Naval Aviator Lark Maddox works for the United States Coast Guard. Honor and Integrity are the morals she lives by, yet her heart has been stolen by one under her command.

Master Chief Survival Tech Acer Davidson doesn't believe in love or marriage and has forsworn making any permanent ties. When tragedy occurs, will he seize the opportunity of a lifetime or let the best thing in his life float away on the rippling tide.

LynnMarie’s Review

Embrace the Moment is nothing like I’ve ever read before because of its strong military theme. A reader with a military/coastguard background would certainly feel right at home reading this book. However, even with no related experience, I was able to fully engage myself in the story without feeling lost or overwhelmed.

I really enjoyed this love story! It was very unique and complex, especially for a novella. Lark is devoted to her career and proud of her high position, especially being a woman amongst so many men. She’s tough as nails and keeps her emotions behind a carefully guarded barrier. Acer is similar in character; seemingly heartless, focused on his career, and not to be messed with.

The relationship was volatile and sexy! When these two get together, there is nothing sweet and gentle about their loving, which makes this a sexy read. It’s a nice touch to offset the frequent military talk. The relationship between Lark and Acer appears to be only sexual since Acer refuses to commit. After years, Lark has had enough and wants more. She understands that Acer has issues stemming from his father’s death while on duty, but she still expects him to move on and not live in the past. Can he let go of his demons in order to keep the woman he loves?

Mahalia Levey is a gifted writer and certainly has a way with words. Everything flowed smoothly and naturally in this book and kept my interest until the end. Her characters jumped to life with their well defined personalities and snappy dialogue. The mix of love, duty, emotion, and nail-biting suspense made Embrace the Moment a winner.

If you want to read something truly unique that will touch your heart, you have to pick up your copy of Mahalia Levey’s novella, Embrace the Moment. I eagerly await her next book because it’s sure to be an engaging read.
