LynnMarie’s Review

If you want a start a paranormal romance series that will undoubtedly become one of your favorites, start A Hunger Like No Other by Kresley Cole, right away. She is a master at developing a complex plot, larger than life characters, and a romance to die for. The humor laced throughout her books is priceless!

In this book, unlike most of Kresley Cole’s others in this series, the heroine is meek and mild. She’s a delicate, part vampire, part Valkyrie in search of answers. When the strong, ruggedly handsome Lachlain claims she is his mate, the idea disgusts her and she wants nothing to do with him. He’s a werewolf, a violent brute in her opinion.

One thing that irritated me about this book was the heroine’s constant refusal of the poor hero. It takes a lot of convincing from him to turn Emmaline around. When the time finally comes, the sex is hot! I especially love how Emma feeds off her man, it’s very bonding.  The relationship, beyond the constant sexual tension, was cute and playful. Emmaline learned to enjoy antagonizing the beast, knowing she could get away with it.

If you only have time for one series, you have to delve into Kresley Cole’s Immortals After Dark series. She puts vast amounts of effort into her world building, plot and relationships. The secondary characters in this book (later the main characters in others) are laugh out loud funny and entertaining. Every romance in this series will stay with you long after you close the book.

5 Tea Cups and a Recommended Read!
