Once Upon a Threesome is exactly what the title implies; an anthology of fictional history where, in each story describes a sexual situation between three people. Any way you can put together three people from males and females is within these pages.

To begin with, although there is some romance, these stories can be described as erotica, where there may be Happily for Now, at best. Individually, the stories range in writing from average to superbly well done. Lori Perkins has put together 14 different stories from 14 separate authors into one book, starting, in historical order from the biblical with Barabbas, by Jen Bluekissed, to what appears as present day with Snap Decision by Elizabeth Caldwell.

All manner of coupling are erotically described, in various levels of detail. As a book of erotic stories, it can be picked up, read for a bit and left for another time. Also, as erotica and not romance, we hardly have the time or inclination to become invested with the characters. We see them briefly and know little about them, with the exception of a brief overview and then they’re involved with each other.

As a collection, it’s quite interesting, reading through a fictional account of history as seen through the window of threesomes, both homosexual and heterosexual. As stories, they are brief on characterization and heavy on erotica.
