Wicked Deeds on a Winter’s Night by Kresley Cole

Publisher: Pocket Books
Genre: Paranormal Romance

Heat Rating: 2

Her breathless kiss haunts him.

Bowen MacRieve of the Lykae clan was nearly destroyed when he lost the one woman meant for him. The ruthless warrior grew even colder, never taking another to his bed—until a smoldering encounter with his enemy, Mariketa the Awaited, reawakens his darkest desires. When sinister forces unite against her, the Highlander finds himself using all his strength and skill to keep her alive.

His slow, hot touch is irresistible.

Temporarily stripped of her powers, Mari is forced to take refuge with her sworn adversary. It’s rumored that no one can tempt Bowen’s hardened heart, but soon passion burns between them. Though a future together is impossible, she fears he has no intention of letting her go.

No deed is too wicked for her seduction.

If they defeat the evil that surrounds them, can Mari deny Bowen when he demands her body and soul—or will she risk everything for her fierce protector?

LynnMarie’s Review

When I started the third full length novel in Kresley Cole’s Immortals After Dark series, I thought that it couldn’t possibly be as good as the last one. How can an author continue to maintain such excellence in a series? Well, Kresley Cole has done it again!

Mari is a young witch, trying to prove herself, and develop her powers. She is stripped of her power, soon after entering a life and death contest, and is forced to team up with Bowen. He’s a Lykae, a sexy Highland Lykae with a hot accent! Though they both have feelings for each other, and give in on occasion, they are both stubborn and determined to win the contest for themselves.

I loved Kresley Cole’s usual humor, which makes her books so enjoyable. The world building, plot, and characters did not disappoint. When you read one of Ms. Cole’s books, you are swept away into another world and time, able to forget about everything while you’re reading.

The sexual tension is off the charts. Mari is tough and hot headed, but she has a heart that quickly belongs to Bowen. But Bowen is obsessed with reincarnating his dead mate. She feels like a placeholder, even when he says he loves her.

I don’t want to give anything away, but the plot explodes later in the book and some serious decisions have to be made. You’ll be on the edge of your seat and flipping the pages in search of a happily ever after.
As I’ve stated before, if you’re looking for an awesome paranormal romance series, this is one not to miss!
