Rihat is a mighty soldier determined to save his sister from the dreaded akhazu demon that stalks their town. As a human, he isn’t powerful enough to defeat it, so he prays at Marduk’s temple for help. In response, he receives the beautiful, Iltani, a half goddess/half human ardat-lili. She promises to make him stronger and more powerful, if he’ll become her slave.
Though Rihat wants nothing to do with what he perceives as a demon, he can’t refuse Iltani’s offer if it will help save his sister. He also can’t ignore the raging lust consuming him when in her presence. The sex was hot and titillating. We can feel Rihat’s desperation to become sexual with Iltani.
Madeleine Drake created such vivid pictures in my mind with her detailed descriptions of both setting and emotion. For such a short, one sitting read, I felt connected to the main characters. From their intense desire, to their need for more than just sexual release from each other, Madeleine Drake painted a realistic portrayal for the reader. Though this was an erotic paranormal read, it was so much more. The plot was fully realized, creating a new world, new rules and an intriguing story. There is definitely room for a sequel and I’d be more than interested in reading it, should there be one.
For a quick erotic, paranormal romance that will pull you in from the beginning and not let you go until you finish the book, read Blood Hero by Madeleine Drake. She is a gifted author capable of creating a story that is flowing and well balanced. Bravo!
