Blurb

Tori is the vice president of her company. Her career is all about being in charge, solving problems, making decisions. But in the bedroom she likes to give up control. She likes to be taken to the edge, likes the heady pleasure of pain, likes how it sets her free.

Dev is a physician. In his career, he has sworn to do no harm and was taught that raising a hand to a woman is wrong. And he is nearly a decade younger than Tori.

The attraction between Tori and Dev is more than just physical—they both feel a connection of spirit. They begin a relationship that seems to work despite their age difference. But when Tori reveals what she really wants in bed, Dev’s not sure if he has it in him to give it to her. And Tori isn’t sure she can have a relationship with someone who can’t accept her for who she is. It’s a power struggle.

Wendy’s Review

Let me begin by saying, WOW! Loved this book! It takes you into the lives of two people raised to take care of people, but who are willing to go out of their comfort zone to please each other.

Tori has taken care of her sisters and made sure that she was always there for them. Then in the corporate world, she worked her way up to Vice President very quickly by taking on more than anyone should; handling it with an authoritive finesse. She had to be hard nosed at work; she was in charge of multi million dollar accounts. When she was at home she wanted someone to take control. Long ago, she accepted that she wanted a sex life with pleasure through pain.

Dr. Dev Fillmore was on duty when gorgeous Tori came in with a badly sprained ankle. He felt the sudden attraction even though it was against his personal policy not to get involved with his patients. He was drawn to her. When he saw that she didn't have a way home he offered to take her and he wanted to take care of her beyond doctor/patient relationship.

Dev always thought that something was wrong with him. He always wanted to dominate a woman in bed, but was raised to cherish women and never lay a hand on them. So when Tori asked him to hurt her, so that she could feel dominated, he wasn't quite sure how to do what she craved. Delving into BDSM and learning to be a master, he thought that Tori deserved to have a dominant man not afraid of hurting her.

The lifestyle has so many twists and turns. They learn that the Master and submissive work together in a mutual bond that opens their eyes to a world of trust and security.

Tori didn't realize until the relationship ended that maybe what she craved wasn't really what she wanted. She decided that a relationship without pain was better than no relationship with Dev. But when the two talked, they realized that in the end they wanted the same thing. They couldn't find the way to communicate what each needed, so they turned to a trusted Dom at a club where Tori played and the third person shows them what they need.

This story has steamy sex with some great spankings and extreme emotional baggage. I recommend this book to anyone who enjoys reading about BDSM. It was artfully written. Great Job, Kelly!
