Lorien’s Review

In the third book of the Miami Scorcher series, Power Unleashed is the story of one woman’s strength to overcoming her painful captivity and finding her true mate. Paz Cabrera still doesn’t feel like she belongs anywhere after the incident. However, with the protection and support of her sister and the Lazos Pack, she’s able to gradually adjust to her new found existence and start over.

Adam Tucker has a nose for investigation as a legendary enforcer for The Council. In his line of work, Adam never thought he would deserve a mate after centuries by himself. But during a mission, he finally meets his mate. From the moment he laid his eyes on Paz, there was an instant connection between them. Even though they can’t keep their hands off each other, Paz fears that Adam would turn her over to The Council if he knew about her secret.

Since the Great War between faeries and werewolves ended hundreds of years ago, The Council made a law where any werewolf with the mixed-blood of a werewolf and faerie would be sentenced to death. The fact that Adam works closely with The Council and has expressed his hatred toward faeries, that’s another reason why Paz is afraid to tell him that she’s a werewolf/fae.

Savannah Stuart created an interesting world of werewolves, fairies and other supernatural beings. Although Paz and Adam were playfully stubborn at times, they also complimented each other very well with their own flaws and passions. The flow of the story remained consistent throughout the book. There was plenty of action, romance and suspense without deviating from the focus of the plot. I liked how it kept me on edge with excitement to know what will happen next. Readers looking for erotic paranormal romance and suspense will definitely enjoy this book.
