Billie learns quickly that being in the wrong place at the wrong time can get a girl killed, unless she has handsome Greek Detective Dare Stephanos on her side. From the moment they lay eyes on one another their libidos explode and they become lost in their mutual desire. But the bliss is short lived when trouble arrives at the doorstep with one thought in mind—to kill Billie. As they escape, Dare wonders what he’s doing, until he looks at Billie and realizes he’ll risk anything to get her in his bed again.
Forced to run for her life, Billie is a woman used to taking care of herself and although she’s deeply attracted to Dare, she knows she has to find her own way out of the danger that surrounds her. But time and again, she finds Dare at her side, protecting her and giving her the most satisfying, mouth watering sex she’s ever had. How can a girl say no to that?
Christy’s Review
Lucille Elizabeth Stone aka Billie is CPA by day and con-artist by night. She’s had a hard life and up until now has had to look out for herself. Darius Stefanos aka Dare is a tall, lean detective with black blue hair. He is currently working for the DA’s Bunco squad where he catches street scammers.
After Billie witnesses a murder, she and Dare are thrown together when he is asked by a fellow detective to help out with the murder investigation. From the first encounter, Billie and Dare meet and have mind blowing sex within a few minutes of meeting each other. I found this completely unrealistic, although, the sex scene itself was well written.
I had a lot of issues with the plot. Some of the situations with the characters were also unrealistic and I found myself having a hard time continuing to read the story. I will say that the second half of the book was better than the first half and I was pleased with the outcome. If you can look past characters having mind blowing sex within minutes of meeting each other, and a police officer that breaks laws repeatedly, then the storyline was pretty good.
