Mina Roarke had always been told she was special. In what way, she never fully understood until circumstances led her down a path of adrenaline-charged danger, blazing sexual heat and ultimate betrayal.
Mathias, a warrior for a secret shifter race known as The Coteri, has been ordered to protect Mina at all costs. Although his oath to protect her is paramount, can he rein in his animal instincts long enough to not claim the one person he’s forbidden to have?

Yadkny's Review

Enter into the world of the Coteri and Valta shifter races where a young hybrid woman holds the key to re-population.

After her mother's passing, Mina felt completely lost and alone. With the help of her friend, Chloe, Mina starts to pick up the pieces to her shattered life. While in full grief mode, Mina begins to question her existence and letters discovered in her mother's possession only lead to more questions with no answers. After a little persuasion, Mina travels to Germany to begin the journey of a lifetime and unravel the mystery surrounding her father's absence in her life. With every step she takes, the world as she knew it crumbles and a new fantastical world emerges.

Mathias is the most revered and respected warrior general to the Coteri Kingdom. His loyalty is without question, which is why he was tasked personally by the king with this latest assignment. Upon seeing Mina, a flood of unbridled instincts and emotions are let lose, but her homecoming is not without major complications. The lines between desire and duty begin to blur and choices are made that could have grave consequences. The devastation could be Mina and Mathias' undoing when truths of her existence and deeply felt betrayals are revealed.

This story is incredibly vivid and allows the reader to just dive right in to a new world of shifters. The descriptions can occasionally be a bit repetitive, but doesn't completely detract and can richly enhance the storyline. The dialogue is fresh with a nice mix of heartfelt emotions and the character point-of-views are well balanced.

I became quickly enthralled with these unique characters and their world. Mina is strong, independent, quick witted, and unknowing of her physical charms. Mathias is not only deliciously described, but fiercely alpha with a sensitive side reserved for those he cares for most. Both characters have admirable qualities that will absolutely appeal to readers. The romantic development between Mina and Mathias is sensually written with smoldering love scenes and plenty of sexual tension.

I applaud this duo author team for their combined efforts in creating this fantastic new series that is sure to become a favorite among the paranormal romance community. I am excited to read more about some of these secondary characters as the series continues and look forward to the return of Mina and Mathias with their own little development.
