The Dating Series, 1

Emergency room nurse, Roxanne Carter is a loser-magnet wishing she could enjoy her single life. Commiserating with girlfriends over butterscotch martinis creates the idea of The Dating Manifesto—a not so scientific research project which promises to point the way to dating success. While gathering data to find the most suitable single men available, she wades through a series of unsavory, stale dates, which literally places her back at ground zero. Just when she is ready to give up, sin personified in the form of sexy firefighter Jett Avery, arrives tainting all of her previous data.

A traumatic warehouse fire, in which firefighter Jett Avery's closest friend dies, has him suffering from Posttraumtic Stress Disorder. Attempting to stave off the worst of his depression, he decides to use his brand of therapy...Sex. The remedy has lost luster until he encounters ER nurse Roxanne Carter.

Monica's Review

This book was something else; it was funny, realistic in how some men act when they think that they are irresistible. That is where Jett Avery finds himself with Roxanne Carter, he is so sure of himself that he sings to her in a sports pub, dances with her and even kisses her but she blows him off. From that moment Jett and his twin brother Cruz know that they want her but who will she pick. Roxanne is immediately drawn to Jett from the moment that he kisses her but after all the dates that Jett ruins she vows never to sleep with him.

This was a wonderful read and it made me laugh so much and then there was the sexual tension between Jett and Roxanne. They both want each other so much but Jett just tries to hard and he doesn’t know when to shut the hell up. I was immediately drawn to his character because there was something about him he was the bad boy but somewhere deep down he had a heart. He showed Roxanne that he could be understanding, he could listen and he could show his true feelings. Roxanne knew that Jett was hiding something devastating but never questioned him about it. There were times that he had reoccurring visions of when he lost his best friend in a fire.

Just to give you an insight of how cocky, persistent Jett was there was the first date between him and Roxanne. Jett shows up to a Restaurant/ Pub not knowing that it was speed dating night. Well first he was pissed off because he truly thought they were going to have dinner but she already had plans for her dating project. So what does he do he tells the men that are participating that Roxanne had some form of STD because he overheard them wanting to get to know her better. Can you believe that I would have hung him from his privates and let him suffer. Just imagine what other evil plans he has under his sleeve in order to bed Roxanne.

The author did an awesome job with describing the growing relationship between Roxanne and Jett. I knew it from the start that they would end up together but didn’t know at what length Jett would to get her and how he would royally screws up by telling her know that they were never an item and for her to find his brother to analyze for her dating project.

Ms. Grieve did a wonderful job in creating this entertaining romance story. It is a different read from other books that I have read and it truly captivated because I wanted to see how long it would take for Roxanne to finally cave in. I would completely recommend Dating 911 to anyone ready to have a good laugh.
