Ruthless, charismatic, and dangerously handsome Shape-shifter, Callum Dyrdek abides by his clan's code—avoid humans at all cost, but protects them from the clan's archenemy, the Blood Robbers. But he broke the rules when he met a beautiful talkative woman he couldn’t stop lusting after. He claims her as his.
Is she worth all the trouble he’s now facing?

Independent and an expert swordswoman, Marisol Saint James never felt the need to depend on anyone. That is until she killed a Shape-shifter. Now she’s on the run with Callum. The drool-worthy, enigmatic Shape-shifter who has made her feel warm all over, took her virginity, and whose kind killed her parents. With no one to turn to, she’s forced to trust him. Until she’s learned his true intention.

Yadkny’s Review

Marisol lives a quiet life making pottery for her Bisque It store, but it is a lonely life. Both of her parents have passed away, most recently her father, due to brutal animal attacks leaving their bodies ravaged and without blood. After her father’s death a wolf started showing up to watch her while she created her pottery. At first she thought it was one of the animals her father helped in his veterinary clinic, but there was something oddly comforting about the wolf’s presence. One night her wolf shows up on the verge of death, so she uses a specially made poultice to heal him. But now her wolf is no where to be found and in his place is a naked man making all kinds of crazy claims.

Callum made a promise to Marisol’s father that he would watch over his daughter when he died. The promise is easy to keep, but not getting personally involved with her is impossible. After a failed attempt by some wolves from a rival clan to kidnap both Marisol and the mystical sword in her possession, Callum knows it’s time to tell her the truth about his world and her place in it. Marisol possesses unique healing abilities for his clan, but has also taken possession of his heart. Now he’s not only determined to settle the score with an old enemy, but also to make Marisol his.

This story was simply amazing! Tierney O’Malley knows how to write an Alpha male character that has both strength and an emotional depth that any reader will fall instantly in love with. The author added a unique twist to her shapeshifters by not making them immortal, but rather making them exist within the boundaries of having only five lives. That puts our hero at an instant disadvantage since he is on his fifth life, but it helps the bond between him and the heroine, since they now both have only one life to live. I found the sex scenes to be incredibly emotionally fulfilling and were very well depicted.

My only hesitation in giving this story five teacups was the editing. I usually have no problems with and can easily overlook minor mistakes in editing, but in this there were a few too many to ignore. However, I refused to let that deter my experience with this fantastic story. I am excited to learn that this was just the first installment in a new series by this talented author. This is a must read for shapeshifter fanatics!

4 1/2 Tea Cups!
