Lorien’s Review

Fourth of July may have been ove,r but the fireworks just started. Sparks light up when Detective Tyler Mason and Sophie Perez are together. Their undeniable attraction and sensual flirtation makes the book so fascinating. From the first sentence, I was pulled into their romantic adventure and left craving for more when it ended.

With a reputation as a womanizer, Detective Tyler Mason doesn’t have any trouble in this department. Ironically, the only woman he wants, but can’t have, is the gorgeous social worker he visits every time at the Dept. of Children and Family Services. For Sophie, sleeping with Tyler is a risk that could lead to a broken heart. She wants more than a casual, friends with benefit hook-up.

At the Independence Day holiday barbeque, Tyler sets his eyes on claiming Sophie once and for all. Just when he thinks his charm is working, she rejects him again. But when a terrifying incident puts her in danger and afraid of losing Tyler, Sophie realizes that there are more to it than good-looks in the heroic cop. Slowly, she starts to open up and trust him with her heart and body.

I really enjoyed this book. Star Spangled Kiss is a fun, exciting read filled with desirable romance and steamy sex. I fell in love with the story and characters right from the beginning. I liked how Tyler and Sophie gradually come to understand and accept each other.

Christa Paige did a wonderful job creating strong characterization with terrific dialogues. The slow-paced plot reveals a great combination of conflict, romance and action which keeps the story interesting page after page. The ending heats up to a big climax. Readers looking for a hot, incredible story with passion will surely enjoy this book.
