Blurb

In war, the greatest battle is love.

Vampire Mila Deluca is as powerful in magic as her trigger-finger is quick.

Pack leader Bryce D’Angelo is as sexy a warrior as he is deadly.

Two equally powerful species, the vampires and lycans are natural enemies. Yet when Mila and Bryce’s lives collide in the midst of a world filled with chaos an uneasy alliance is formed. Together, they must right wrongs and impart justice in the face of a dangerous evil…even as they fight against the connection between them that turns to something far deeper than mere lust.

Mila and Bryce must become bound by blood before they face a final show down that will decide the fate of the world.

Yadkny’s Review

With all the flare of a final battle, doomsday type movie, this story goes from explosive action to even more explosive action. All of it is non-stop. Just when you think to catch your breath… think again! I will say that I did find that a little frustrating since the story overall didn’t seem to flow from scene to scene as smoothly as I would have liked. I would have preferred a little more ‘meat’ between scenes, but it did grab and keep my attention from the beginning.

In good ole paranormal fashion, we are thrust into a post apocalyptic earth due largely to famine, where a war is brewing between the vampires and the lycans. One powerfully gifted, vampire chick by the name of Mila stands in the way of either side winning. Her mission seems simple enough: find and save her sister, then kill the guy that turned her into one of his mindless minions. Problem is during a brief period of capture, Mila becomes fast friends with a lycan. After escaping and his unfortunate death, the lycans’ brother, Bryce strolls into the picture with murder on the brain. Now how do you convince a fully shifted lycan that you did not kill his brother whose bloody body is right there in front of you and you’re the only suspect around?

In regards to the characters, I found Mila to be an all around badass. She’s tough, humorous, and willing to sacrifice anything for the right cause. Whereas with Bryce, he started out very tough and your basic all around Alpha male, but then when feelings changed, he started becoming a little characteristically unrealistic to me. Mila was much more the Alpha between the two. I was impressed with how the author used gods and goddess’s in the storyline and even Dracula makes an appearance. The rituals behind how someone is turned into a vampire and how the lycan’s get dressed for battle are quite imaginative and original. There definitely could be a series to this story if the author so chooses since the ending leaves quite a few options to explore. It will be interesting to see what’s next in line for this young up and coming author.

Recommended reading for those seeking a good ole fashion bloody vampire versus lycan brawl.
