Hunter Dunlap, co-owner of Everlasting Love, wants nothing to do with romance since his wife left him for his assistant—a woman. His new assistant, Ronni Strickland, is perfect with her big glasses and strict appearance. She’s clearly not his type.

On Valentine’s Day, while checking out a resort for the company, Hunter discovers he and Ronni are booked into a section called Bondage Bay. Suddenly he’s looking at his assistant with new eyes—and with a burning need to discover what she’s hiding under that all-business exterior.

Denise's Review

Ronni Strickland and her boss, Hunter Dunlap, have a nice working relationship. She’s efficient and detail-oriented, and not as distracting—at least at first—as some of her predecessors. Despite the nature of the business, Ronni views the workplace with indifferent professionalism…but that doesn’t mean she can’t fantasize about her lickable boss.

Hunter’s no spring chicken, either. His wife left him for another woman, and since the split, he hasn’t felt like himself, or sought romantic entanglements. When his business partner forces him to see Ronni in a different light, he suddenly finds it difficult keeping his mind—and his hands—to himself.

“Diamond Assets” is an incredibly intense, very quick read that leaves the reader panting and gasping for more. I particularly liked the slow set-up, the way the characters are presented as independent, yet vulnerable at the same time. The heat between Hunter and Ronni is palpable, thus when they are given the opportunity to explore their chemistry, it positively sizzles off the page.

I would have liked a bit more development after their relationship takes off. For the slow build-up, it seemed the middle and ending were rushed, which made the pacing a bit awkward. However, for what this story promised, it absolutely delivers. I absolutely recommend it to anyone looking to escape inside their favorite forbidden fantasy.
