Not every woman dreams of a big wedding and Lainey Miles is definitely one of those that yearn for the private, more intimate, ceremony for hers. Doing It Her Way is a charming, quick read about a woman who wants, and is determined to have, her wedding the way she wants it. Calling in the forces- friends she’s had since childhood- Lainey cooks up a plan full of deception and secrets that Jace, the groom-to-be, is becoming progressively wary about. Although Lainey’s sexy, bedroom antics do quite well in keeping him distracted from asking any bothersome questions.

I found this story by Rita Sawyer enjoyable and simply sweet. Lainey’s tight group of friends is made up of strong-willed, entertaining women whom are well-written and vigorously expressive with their unique personalities. There’s no better band of ladies a woman should ever need, whether for a day out shopping or planning the ultimate secret operation. Jace is a sweetheart ripped from a dreamer’s fantasy. He loves Lainey with all his heart and regards her in ways very much resembling a newly blossoming relationship. The guy’s heart flips at every little thing she does and well, what girl doesn’t find that an attractive quality?

The heat level is average for an adult read with bare minimum details put into the passion of the two lovers. At times, though, I felt the dinner menu was more absorbing of their lusts and I would have liked a bit more of an explosive experience in the bedroom instead of the constant pattern where food and foreplay dominantly reigned. All in all, this book is a good read for those who enjoy a predominantly female cast and favor a bit of lighthearted surrealism in their romance.
