No. No. And hell, no.

There was no such thing as fate…or werewolves.

Three testosterone-laden, alpha male types claimed she belonged to them? And that they were willing to share? Nope, couldn’t be happening. She must’ve hit her head harder than she’d realized because something was clearly messing with her usually sensible thought processes.

But how the hell could she explain the crazy way she heard their thoughts in her head? Or the inexplicable way her body reacted to them all even though they were absolutely not her type? Oh, and, yeah, the wild, blazingly hot dreams of foursomes? They totally sucked.

So why then, when faced with a chance to reclaim her quiet life, was Andrea suddenly desperate to make Xavier, Daegan, and Isaac live up to their promise of forever?

Wendy's Review

Abby Blake brought a story that has you using all your emotions to get through it. It is a refreshing touch and an enjoyable read.

Andrea owned and operated her jewellery store with pride but one night and it all comes to a halt, when closing her store she forgot to lock the door which almost caused her life. Fumbling robbers accidently shot Andrea in a hold up and as she was bleeding out. Her only hope happened to be with Isaac and Daegan the two wolves who found her and made the decision to save her by turning her into a wolf, it was perfect because they found their mate, they decided to act first and deal with the ramifications from their brother Xavier.

To no avail Andrea embarks on an adventure that she couldn't quiet fathom and to live with three men who claim to be her mates. Things like this don’t happen so there must be a reasonable explanation of why she is a wolf now and how she is attracted to three men/wolves.

As things progress Andrea came to realize that not only was the sex wonderful and out of this world so was her life. She came to realize that her life was empty without her men.

Xavier, Daegan, and Isaac live up to their promise of forever. To them Andrea is their life long mate and they wanted nothing more than to please her in life and in bed. Even though Andrea kept saying these men were not her type, she knew that there were no other men for her.

Rachel Lamb is on the run from the law. She is exhausted, hungry, and down to her last few hundred dollars after meandering for nearly six months from Miami to Slick Rock, Colorado. She applies for the position of secretary at the sheriff's department and sends up an alert when she asks to be paid cash in hand.

Sheriff Damon Osborn is horrified when he inadvertently learns what has happened to Rachel and vows to protect her with his life. He offers her a place to stay, knowing his brothers will be as attracted to the small woman as he is. The three Osborn brothers, Damon, Tyson, and Sam, have recently finished serving as marines and vow to keep Rachel safe using all their military training.

Rachel is kidnapped. Her life is in the balance. Will the three Osborn men save her in time? Or will justice fall by the wayside?

Monica's Review

The more I read of Ms. Van’s series Slick Rock the more enthralled I am with them. She totally outdid herself in this third book and the path that she explored with their happily ever after was wonderful.

Rachel Lamb witnessed a drive by shooting and knew the man that pulled the trigger. When her life was threatened along with her mothers she fled. She made sure her mother was safe and out of harms way and she drove from state to state hoping to be a step ahead from the person that wants her dead.

The Sheriff Damon Osborn from Slick Rock is immediately attracted to Rachel from the moment he laid eyes on her. He offers her room and board in his home with his two bachelor brothers without hesitation. When Tyson and Sam find out that a woman is staying in the master bedroom they have a fit. They have vowed to find a woman to share but give it a shot when they hear Rachel and see her for the first time. At that moment like Damon they know they want her.

I really liked Rachel because she fought so hard to keep her emotions at bay but with the Osborn brothers touching her every chance they could she was so sexually frustrated. Well what can I say about the three Osborn brothers, they are total hunks, thanks Ms. Van for every single detail of their physic. Their personalities are so different but with Rachel in the picture they mesh so well. The love scenes were so hot and exciting, believe me you will not be disappointed. The ménage scenes were well written with the exception of their first time together. I think it was a little to much to start with all of them together when this was her first sexual experience. Don’t get me wrong it was totally hot but it felt too sudden.

Although this story was a little to short it was a great read. For those readers who enjoy romantic scenes with just a hint of suspense this erotic read is for you. See how Rachel is able to escape the bad guy and find herself entwined with three sexy men ready to make her the happiest woman alive.

Felicity Wagner drives to the Double Eagle Ranch ten minutes outside of Slick Rock, Colorado, to apply for the job of ranch hand. The moment she sets eyes on ranch owners Tom and Billy Eagle, her body awakens for the first time.

Felicity is saved from an attack by one of the ranch hands, and when the sheriff, Luke Sun-Walker, is called in, he takes one look at the bruised and battered woman and knows she is the right woman for him. Luke and his lifetime friends Tom and Billy agree to woo Felicity together. They know the cool, calm woman Felicity portrays to the world is a facade she is not even aware of and are determined to break down the walls she has erected to get to the fiery, passionate woman beneath.

Felicity's life is threatened by the insane ex-ranch hand, James, and the three men know time is running out to save their woman. Will they get to her in time? Or will they be too late?

Monica's Review

When Felicity Wagner comes to the Double E Ranch she knows she needs the job as a ranch hand because her funds are getting low, so when she is hired and signs a contract she knows everything will be fine. The only exception is that she is attracted to her bosses Luke and Tom Eagle. She feels uneasy with one of the ranch hands and when she finds herself being slapped and her shirt ripped from her body she knows she is in big trouble.

Luke and Billy Eagle know they want Felicity but still Tom puts her through the test to see if she can handle the job. Luke and Billy are both dominate men but Luke seems more dominate than Billy but they are both built with an amazing body. Both are amazing men and I can’t say I like one more than the other. Then when Luke Sun-Walker is introduced it’s like the heavens opened up on him and gave him the body that any woman in their right mind would want to ravish. To me he seemed even more dominate than Tom and it seemed that he took the lead in the relationship. Tom, Billy and Luke vow to keep their woman safe from the ranch hand that tried to rape her but when she is on the verge of a mental/ emotional break down they have no idea what to do and worry that they pushed her to hard.

Things happened pretty fast between the four characters. I enjoyed seeing how their transformation of lust grew into love but most of all the passion that they shared. Once Felicity was able to open up about her past and how she was never loved things really took off from there. Felicity is written as a smart and independent woman determined to make it on her own. She does not realize that keeping all of her emotions bottled up will hurt her health. So once she is able to acknowledge her emotions she is able to find happiness and the men are more than happy to contribute to that. So when she goes missing the men vow to find her and also take care of the ranch hand that touched their woman again.

This story was a little too short but no matter what it grabbed me by my throat and wouldn’t let go until I finished this book in one sitting. The passion that flowed through this story was amazing how in tune they were with each other. I can’t wait to read the next book in this series and see who is next to have their happily ever after. Read this story and see but surprise is in store for these four characters and how happy they will be together till they grow old.

Drew has been working her ranch with only one other person for so long she is more than happy to hire ex-convicts Jeb and Marshall and give them a chance to help her through the winter. Not only do they warm her bed and work the ranch, they help keep her safe from whoever is intent on sabotaging her farm and possibly taking her life.

Jeb and Marshall served their time and are ready to get on with their lives. Unfortunately, no one wants to hire ex-convicts. Drew gives them a chance to prove they’re trustworthy and more than up for the job. When Drew is injured, they take care of the ranch and her at the same time.

When the dust settles and the culprit is behind bars, will they stay with Drew and start a family, or will they move on?

Monica's Review

When Drew finds herself hiring two ex-cons she knows that she is in big trouble. There is something about the two cowboys that intrigue her. She is a very strong woman and has been handling her ranch with only one person helping since her husband past away. Drew knows that the winter is almost upon them and she needs the help. There are also things that are happening at the ranch but she can’t figure out who is doing the harm.

Jeb and Marshall are both drawn to Drew from the moment that they laid eyes on her. They know that they are ex-cons but would like to see if they could have something with her. They know she has needs and it seems to them that they can take care of them. Once they see things happening at the ranch they know they cannot leave until they find out who is threatening the life of Drew. Sure first it starts off as fence cuttings, then someone endangering the horses but when they find her unconscious with a goose on the back of her head they know someone is out to get her killed.

Although I loved the characters in this story, I had a hard time believing the storyline. I can’t say specifically what it was but there was something missing in the relationship. Everything happened so fast, the way they became one. Yet they had their doubts about the relationship but it still happened. Then Jeb actually never admitted his feelings for Marshall and never came clean about what happened to Drew. I feel as if Drew was cheated out of this relationship. Marshall and Jeb never came out and told Drew about what happened in their past, what happened to them before they went to prison. How they knew each other and what kind of lives they lived. How they became who they are. Why they need each other in a ménage relationship.

I can say is that Jeb and Marshall are truly great lovers. I felt so bad for one of the secondary characters, Kenny. He was also in a different kind of relationship which also had rough patches. Kenny was involved with another man by the name of Robert. Jeb and Marshall were not discreet when it came to loving Drew. Jeb was a very dominate man and he let Drew know that when in the bedroom she listened to him and do as he told her. When she found herself over his knee and received a spanking she found herself intrigued and could not believe she wanted more.

Overall it was a good book. If you love hot ménages and hot cowboys you may want to add this one to your shopping list.

Cougar Hunting is a sexy contemporary romance set in Atlanta, Georgia and South Beach, Florida. When Terri Eisenman, a successful thirty-nine-year-old widow, first spots Chad Edwards during one of her nights out with her pack of cougar friends, she crumbles to her desires to have him. However, Chad, a young and successful businessman in his own right, presents much more of a challenge than she assumes. His group of friends also hunts for and plays with older women.

Complications ensue when Terri and Chad find themselves in a business relationship. Both share one belief: business and personal relationships don’t mix. Controlling a boiling passion and coping with fears of commitment mount as they work for a solution. The only way to save both their business and personal lives is admitting their unique qualities, which complement each, and form a new partnership.

Monica's Review

Game Plan – love’em, leave’em, and forget’em, a motto that many men and women use but for Terri and Chad it became complicated.

Now a day’s age does not matter but not when it comes to the heart is something that someone cannot just shut off. Chad thought that he could challenge Terri in trying to keep up with his stamina but Terri was way ahead of him.

Terri is out to have fun since her husband passed away almost three years ago and seeks younger men to fulfill a need in her that somehow was not accomplished during her marriage. She was married to an older man so when she encounters Chad in a club there is something about him that encourages her to talk to him. Soon she finds herself working with him but she knows that she can not mix business with pleasure. There is only one problem there is a connection between them that she is not able to let go. Now if only she can remember what it felt like to be intimate with him since the first time they were both drunk.

Chad basically challenged himself and Terri from the moment that they met but he was totally wrong about her. He finds himself thinking about her all the time something that he is not used to. He becomes accustomed to their embraces and kisses. When he sees a painting of someone that looks familiar he knows he must have it. He wonders who it is there is something in the eyes of the painting but can not think of who it might be. When he confronts his best friend that painted the painting he knew he had been set up but still does not know who it resembles. When he finally figures it out he cannot believe it the one person that has been haunting his dreams. Only that he should have put the painting in a very secure place where Terri could not come across.

Cougar Hunting doesn’t just deal with Chad and Terri it has other characters that I hope come into play in other books. Only these two characters are what I would say the ring leader for their group. I love how the author kept the spark between them going, especially with Chad. Chad was a man that had women flocking him wherever he went but he was able to stay away from them. Their relationship took awhile to actual become that but it was interesting how they were able to still work together and stay on track. Their commitment to their work came first.

I enjoyed this story, it was fun, witty and it had its romance.

April Waterson has just waved good-bye to her best friend and work colleague after a ritual Friday night out for dinner and drinks. She heads toward a cabstand and begins to feel ill. When April's vision finally clears, she finds herself in an unfamiliar forest, surrounded by gigantic trees. She falls asleep leaning against a large tree trunk.

April finally awakens and finds herself in a palatial-style mansion with two Alpha shape-shifting panthers, Gage and Saxon Kian, claiming she is their mate. She attempts to escape and finds herself being rescued by another shape-shifter, only this time it's a bear. Ben Koku knows April is his mate as well. He asks April to accept his claim so he may help her deal with the dominant, arrogant panther shifters, and she accepts.

Will the three men be able to convince April she is a worthy mate for the three of them?

Stacey's Review

In Alpha Panthers, Terra Form 1, Becca Van takes us from the plains of Nebraska into the deep, dark forest of Terra Form on another earthly plane. Terra Form is a loand of shapeshifters and filled with menage’s of the human and animalistic kind.

A story that starts out with a far from classic love triangle involving two were-panthers and a woman. We are witness to not only a ménage with two men but also woman and panther. I have to be honest, it didn’t sit well with me.

However, I pulled up my professional boots and plodded on through to the heart of the story.
A woman in a strange land, claimed and marked by two men/panthers who believe she is their mate, also comes across a were-bear who also believes he has claim to her-- in the process. This making her life even more complicated. Far from her normal, solitary life in Nebraska. Who will she choose? Will she accept her newfound destiny or fight tooth and nail to get out of there and back to her lonely life on another plane? The main story line is easy to focus on if you are not into the human having sexual acts with animals type thing.

Becca Van has written a very steamy read. Her imaginative crafting and phenomenal word weaving gives us a view much different than your run of the mill shifter stories.

I recommend this to ménage fans but with the warning of scenes involving post shifting sexual acts.

Dana has always loved Clay, her brother’s best friend. She’d grown up with him always around, and when she left to pursue a modeling career in New York and to go to college, leaving him behind was difficult.

Coming home for vacations and holidays through the years, she began to realize the brotherly feelings were gone, replaced with lust and need. On one storm-riddled night, she’d nearly seduced him.
With time, she began to learn what got her excited and realized she’d become an unconventional woman in most men’s eyes. Coming home for good, Dana finally let Clay know her secret. If he could accept her need for toys, spanking, and bondage in the bedroom, they might stand a chance at a future together.

Monica's Review

His Unconventional Woman is a story about a man and woman that fell in love with each other five years before she returned home. Due to a relationship that she had with a man he made her believe that she was a cold woman. Only that her body did not desire that man her body desired her brother’s best friend. Now he knew he loved her but he still saw her as the kid that went everywhere with him and her brother. But one kiss during a christening has their bodies burning for each other.

Dana is a strong woman but deep down in her heart she knows that she might lose the one man that she has loved. When she saw him with another woman she thought she lost him and she settled with another man. He introduced her to sex toys, bondage, spanking amongst other thing but she could not seem to get aroused. So when she returns home and sees Clay for the first time in almost five years she knows that if he cannot accept her with her sexual ways hopes at least that they will not loose their friendship.

Clay knew from the moment that he had a taste of her he was done. Sure he dated but there was know one like Dana and that is how it stayed until she came home. From the moment that he kissed her he knew he was toast, he was in love. Only problem is that Dana kept on rejecting him saying that he needed someone that could actually love him the way he deserved. I am glad that Clay did not give up because after dinner with Dana’s brother and wife he got the will power to call her while she was at a photo shoot. That is where their future would start.

When Clay received a box from Dana he became instantly aroused of just imagining the different sex scenarios that could take place with all the toys in the box. The symbol of the box and the note told Clay that Dana finally trusted him with her unconventional ways. Then there was the part where some of those toys could also be used on him and not only that there would be times that Dana wanted to be in charge. Could he truly give up control and have Dana do as she pleased with his body and with whatever toy she decided to use on him or in him.

I did enjoy that even though you knew that they would stay together there is always someone that wants to ruin the relationship, but with Dana’s way of thinking she seems to somewhat solve the problem. The sex scenes were hot, when finally they were able to get rid of the fact that Dana liked a little kink in her sex. The story was good but it was a little to slow for me. They seemed to dance around and act on how they truly felt for each other but it did make for a secure relationship. They were able to talk about everything and not let circumstances change their way. The storyline was believable and romantic and nice that even Dana’s brother, Jeff, and his wife, Lisa, had a role in making their relationship work.

All around, His Unconventional Woman was a good read with good characters. Enjoy this read and see if you also don’t fall in love with Dana and Clay, as I did.

Poppy Dumphy is Beverly Hills born and bred, and she has everything money can buy—except a connection with her father. After his death, she learns why and leaves her posh life to expose a long-kept secret.

In Rowdy, Texas, small-town living suits Cale Hollander to a comfortable T. He runs his ranch, helps his neighbors, and is wary of strangers. The former rodeo bronc buster wants to return to his first love—riding. The last thing he needs is a distraction in the form of a petite blonde.

The pair butts heads at every encounter as intensifying attractions—and mounting suspicions—flourish. Neither is prepared for the other as they fail in their fight with temptation. If they give in, will they both lose all they cherish when the truth comes out? Or can they build a life together better than either ever dreamed of?

Monica's Review

A secret that is not told soon enough can cause heartache because it may be misinterpreted as being a gold-digger.

Poppy Dumphy lived a life of luxury but when she refused to do as her father wished he disowned her of his money and inheritance. Poppy was still able to live a comfortable life, even went to college and made something out of her life. When her father passed away she found some letters in her father’s safety deposit box that her mom had written to a man, Kib Morgan, and a secret was revealed. She set her mind to go to Rowdy, Texas even though her brother and sister tried to change her mind knowing it was going to be a disaster. Nothing good would come out of it and she would return back home with a broken heart.

Cale Hollander was a rancher and was just trying to find out what he wanted in life. He never got along with his father and moved out when he was young. He ended up living with the man that he idolized, Kib Morgan. When a little lady came onto his ranch something about her made him want to send her back where she came from. Once he realized where she was headed he believed she was just another money hungry woman coming to cling on to his best friend.

Something was different in Poppy that Cale could not shake. Every time it seemed that he expected for her to react a certain way she didn’t, she just proved him wrong. Poppy had not come to Rowdy, Texas to fall in love or to meet anyone but there was something about Cale that she could not shake off. They were total opposites but they connected so well. Poppy knew that this relationship could not work but what if what she set to do she would not do. She thought about staying with Cale having a family and never ever revealing her secret the reason why she needed to find Kib Morgan. She knew that sooner or later she had to tell him the truth of who she was but was afraid of being rejected. She longed for him to hold her, tell her he understood and that he loved her no matter what. She just wanted to be part of his life but she was scared.

This story will bring you to tears when Kib finally realizes the truth of why Poppy showed up at his ranch. Then when Cale believes that her intentions were only for money you just want to wring his neck. I enjoyed seeing that at least one of her siblings cared enough to come and help her with her problem. He was able to make her understand that she was not one to coward herself out of anything and she needed to tell Kib the truth once and for all and no matter what he was there to help her. And for that gesture and more he got a big surprise.

The characters make this story admirable, courageous because it takes courage to reveal this kind of secret and not create tidal waves. This story is full of emotional twists that your heart goes out to Poppy. Enjoy this read and see how everything comes together for Poppy, Cale and Kib because they truly get their happily ever after.

Katie would do anything to protect Joe and Mason’s reputations in town, including giving up her own happiness with them. When the Dorchesters threaten her men, she tries to protect them the only way she knows. Now her men are in a race to save her life and their new family. Can they keep her safe in the deadly Hernando Heat?

Monica's Review

Hernando Heat is actually a heart warmed story with characters that you will fall in love with because of the rollercoaster of emotions that they each radiate. You have a woman being harassed by her ex-father-in-law but soon find happiness. Then you have 2 grown men acting like children because neither can cook and they each have their own sad story. But just like the woman they find happiness too but for how long because there are times that happiness does not last forever.

Katherine “Katie” is a very strong woman that will not put up with anybody’s bull crap if her life depended on it. She stood up for herself with no help of anyone besides her shotgun when it came to her ex-father-in-law. So moving to a different county, town did not make her cringe she was able to open up a business and start mending peoples clothing or make it. Katie was hit on a lot since she was a single woman even if she was a widow but those men were not very handsome. So when she finds to attractive men and see it in their eyes that they want her, why not court them.

Mason is just a big hunk with soft brown chocolate eyes that you can just fall into a daze with. Then you have Joe with soft pale blue eyes that might remind you of a clear summer sky or even a clear blue ocean, ones that just memorize you. They both know that they have fallen for Katie but Mason has already claimed for but Mason does something that I don’t believe no man would do for another, decides to back down and let Joe be happy. His belief is that Joe has suffered so much already and he is finally smiling everyday something that has not been done in a very long time. Only problem is that before Mason is able to tell Katie about his feeling and why he is deciding not to court her, Joe accidentally declares that he and Katie are engaged to be married. Oh boy does Mason have a fit and gets drink and all three end up on rolling around on mudded clay ground.

In the midst of all of the love making and rejoicing their love, the ex-father in law and ex-brother in law are still threatening Katie. Only they are not ready for what happens to her nor is she. Katie is one that is already very protective of her men so when they threaten to kill them she does what is told of her and leaves with them. Now Joe and Mason know her concerns of the town knowing about their relationship so will they believe what she wrote in the note or go seek her.

I rarely read any historical books just because I would prefer to read about the present time, but Ms. Dalton plot in this book get me so interested. Her writing skills are impeccable. Katie is a fierce spitfire with her shotgun and Mason and Joe with their bickering about their cooking skills. There were times that I caught myself laughing and other times that I caught myself cheering Katie on her way of defending herself. The pain came almost towards the end of the book where it could go either way for them. But on once I got to the end I was so happy for them I cried because they had a long journey in their happily ever after.

I will be keeping this author in my library and will be on the lookout for any more new releases from her. Just maybe she has changed my mind on how I feel about historical stories and give more books a try. Read this book today and read the romance between Katie, Mason and Joe along with the psycho ex-father in law and ex-brother in law.
