Thunder Creek Ranch, 2

Two cops have been murdered, two convicts escape. Samantha Muldoon and Blake Northrup pair up to protect their friends.

Will their attraction to each other hinder their effectiveness or distract them from their job? Can it grow into something lasting, or will previous hurt keep them apart?

Monica's Review

This is a passionate story where two characters come together shortly after tragedy happens at Thunder Creek Ranch. They have been friends going out on outings but never out formally. A passionate weekend is all that Sam can give but Blake is not ready to let go. Only that Sam is holding a secret that can either break their somewhat relationship or maybe get married.

Sam is a strong independent woman that has been holding her own since she was discharged from the military on medical leave. She was caught in an explosion that left her without an arm. Coming to realize that she maybe falling in love with Blake she decides to have a passionate weekend then walk away. Only that the stalker of her best friend escapes on the day he had court she realizes that she will be spending more time with Blake.

Blake knows what he wants and will do anything to have Sam. He tries to stay away from her but he misses her too much. So when she agrees to spend the weekend with him at his ranch home he is in heaven. Only his happiness is short lived because Sam is in an accident and can not remember anything. He helps her to recover but at the same time he has a job to do and people to protect. He needs to remember that not only does he need to protect his friends but he can also be in danger.

Covert Mission: Undercover Cop takes place in Thunder Creek Ranch where his bestfriend Luke and his wife Zakia live. The stalker that Zakia had in book one is back to finish the job that he failed to do. This time her best friend will be with her every step of the way but an accident left her with amnesia. Little by little she regains her memory but somehow during her time without memory she is still attracted to Blake. Only Blake was a gentleman and did not cross the line with her no matter what Sam did. When she regains her memory will she allow herself to be happy no matter what?

I liked that the characters in Zakia and her Cowboy were integrated into this book. I was able to see how their relationship has flourished. I was so happy for Blake when it looked like he was going to have his dream come true but all was shattered when his life was hangs by a thread. I also sympathized with Sam because she went through a lot when she was in the military with her accident and the heartache of losing people she loved. There were a couple of editing errors which confused me but not enough to keep me from finishing the story. The only problem that I had with this story was that I wanted to read how the stalker was caught and who was behind in helping him escape when he was being transported to the court. But believe me it was worth the read.

If you have not read book one of this series, Zakia and her Cowboy, I highly recommend it so you can see how it all started with the mission of finding the fugitive. Will Blake accept the secret that Sam has been keeping from him and somehow form a family in the future. Well buy this book and find out how they got their happily ever after.

Drew has been working her ranch with only one other person for so long she is more than happy to hire ex-convicts Jeb and Marshall and give them a chance to help her through the winter. Not only do they warm her bed and work the ranch, they help keep her safe from whoever is intent on sabotaging her farm and possibly taking her life.

Jeb and Marshall served their time and are ready to get on with their lives. Unfortunately, no one wants to hire ex-convicts. Drew gives them a chance to prove they’re trustworthy and more than up for the job. When Drew is injured, they take care of the ranch and her at the same time.

When the dust settles and the culprit is behind bars, will they stay with Drew and start a family, or will they move on?

Monica's Review

When Drew finds herself hiring two ex-cons she knows that she is in big trouble. There is something about the two cowboys that intrigue her. She is a very strong woman and has been handling her ranch with only one person helping since her husband past away. Drew knows that the winter is almost upon them and she needs the help. There are also things that are happening at the ranch but she can’t figure out who is doing the harm.

Jeb and Marshall are both drawn to Drew from the moment that they laid eyes on her. They know that they are ex-cons but would like to see if they could have something with her. They know she has needs and it seems to them that they can take care of them. Once they see things happening at the ranch they know they cannot leave until they find out who is threatening the life of Drew. Sure first it starts off as fence cuttings, then someone endangering the horses but when they find her unconscious with a goose on the back of her head they know someone is out to get her killed.

Although I loved the characters in this story, I had a hard time believing the storyline. I can’t say specifically what it was but there was something missing in the relationship. Everything happened so fast, the way they became one. Yet they had their doubts about the relationship but it still happened. Then Jeb actually never admitted his feelings for Marshall and never came clean about what happened to Drew. I feel as if Drew was cheated out of this relationship. Marshall and Jeb never came out and told Drew about what happened in their past, what happened to them before they went to prison. How they knew each other and what kind of lives they lived. How they became who they are. Why they need each other in a ménage relationship.

I can say is that Jeb and Marshall are truly great lovers. I felt so bad for one of the secondary characters, Kenny. He was also in a different kind of relationship which also had rough patches. Kenny was involved with another man by the name of Robert. Jeb and Marshall were not discreet when it came to loving Drew. Jeb was a very dominate man and he let Drew know that when in the bedroom she listened to him and do as he told her. When she found herself over his knee and received a spanking she found herself intrigued and could not believe she wanted more.

Overall it was a good book. If you love hot ménages and hot cowboys you may want to add this one to your shopping list.

Poppy Dumphy is Beverly Hills born and bred, and she has everything money can buy—except a connection with her father. After his death, she learns why and leaves her posh life to expose a long-kept secret.

In Rowdy, Texas, small-town living suits Cale Hollander to a comfortable T. He runs his ranch, helps his neighbors, and is wary of strangers. The former rodeo bronc buster wants to return to his first love—riding. The last thing he needs is a distraction in the form of a petite blonde.

The pair butts heads at every encounter as intensifying attractions—and mounting suspicions—flourish. Neither is prepared for the other as they fail in their fight with temptation. If they give in, will they both lose all they cherish when the truth comes out? Or can they build a life together better than either ever dreamed of?

Monica's Review

A secret that is not told soon enough can cause heartache because it may be misinterpreted as being a gold-digger.

Poppy Dumphy lived a life of luxury but when she refused to do as her father wished he disowned her of his money and inheritance. Poppy was still able to live a comfortable life, even went to college and made something out of her life. When her father passed away she found some letters in her father’s safety deposit box that her mom had written to a man, Kib Morgan, and a secret was revealed. She set her mind to go to Rowdy, Texas even though her brother and sister tried to change her mind knowing it was going to be a disaster. Nothing good would come out of it and she would return back home with a broken heart.

Cale Hollander was a rancher and was just trying to find out what he wanted in life. He never got along with his father and moved out when he was young. He ended up living with the man that he idolized, Kib Morgan. When a little lady came onto his ranch something about her made him want to send her back where she came from. Once he realized where she was headed he believed she was just another money hungry woman coming to cling on to his best friend.

Something was different in Poppy that Cale could not shake. Every time it seemed that he expected for her to react a certain way she didn’t, she just proved him wrong. Poppy had not come to Rowdy, Texas to fall in love or to meet anyone but there was something about Cale that she could not shake off. They were total opposites but they connected so well. Poppy knew that this relationship could not work but what if what she set to do she would not do. She thought about staying with Cale having a family and never ever revealing her secret the reason why she needed to find Kib Morgan. She knew that sooner or later she had to tell him the truth of who she was but was afraid of being rejected. She longed for him to hold her, tell her he understood and that he loved her no matter what. She just wanted to be part of his life but she was scared.

This story will bring you to tears when Kib finally realizes the truth of why Poppy showed up at his ranch. Then when Cale believes that her intentions were only for money you just want to wring his neck. I enjoyed seeing that at least one of her siblings cared enough to come and help her with her problem. He was able to make her understand that she was not one to coward herself out of anything and she needed to tell Kib the truth once and for all and no matter what he was there to help her. And for that gesture and more he got a big surprise.

The characters make this story admirable, courageous because it takes courage to reveal this kind of secret and not create tidal waves. This story is full of emotional twists that your heart goes out to Poppy. Enjoy this read and see how everything comes together for Poppy, Cale and Kib because they truly get their happily ever after.

When the Dorchesters threaten her men, she tries to protect them the only way she knows. Now her men are in a race to save her life and their new family. Can they keep her safe in the deadly Hernando Heat?

Monica's Review

Hernando Heat is actually a heart warmed story with characters that you will fall in love with because of the rollercoaster of emotions that they each radiate. You have a woman being harassed by her ex-father-in-law but soon find happiness. Then you have 2 grown men acting like children because neither can cook and they each have their own sad story. But just like the woman they find happiness too but for how long because there are times that happiness does not last forever.

Katherine “Katie” is a very strong woman that will not put up with anybody’s bull crap if her life depended on it. She stood up for herself with no help of anyone besides her shotgun when it came to her ex-father-in-law. So moving to a different county, town did not make her cringe she was able to open up a business and start mending peoples clothing or make it. Katie was hit on a lot since she was a single woman even if she was a widow but those men were not very handsome. So when she finds to attractive men and see it in their eyes that they want her, why not court them.

Mason is just a big hunk with soft brown chocolate eyes that you can just fall into a daze with. Then you have Joe with soft pale blue eyes that might remind you of a clear summer sky or even a clear blue ocean, ones that just memorize you. They both know that they have fallen for Katie but Mason has already claimed for but Mason does something that I don’t believe no man would do for another, decides to back down and let Joe be happy. His belief is that Joe has suffered so much already and he is finally smiling everyday something that has not been done in a very long time. Only problem is that before Mason is able to tell Katie about his feeling and why he is deciding not to court her, Joe accidentally declares that he and Katie are engaged to be married. Oh boy does Mason have a fit and gets drink and all three end up on rolling around on mudded clay ground.

In the midst of all of the love making and rejoicing their love, the ex-father in law and ex-brother in law are still threatening Katie. Only they are not ready for what happens to her nor is she. Katie is one that is already very protective of her men so when they threaten to kill them she does what is told of her and leaves with them. Now Joe and Mason know her concerns of the town knowing about their relationship so will they believe what she wrote in the note or go seek her.

I rarely read any historical books just because I would prefer to read about the present time, but Ms. Dalton plot in this book get me so interested. Her writing skills are impeccable. Katie is a fierce spitfire with her shotgun and Mason and Joe with their bickering about their cooking skills. There were times that I caught myself laughing and other times that I caught myself cheering Katie on her way of defending herself. The pain came almost towards the end of the book where it could go either way for them. But on once I got to the end I was so happy for them I cried because they had a long journey in their happily ever after.

I will be keeping this author in my library and will be on the lookout for any more new releases from her. Just maybe she has changed my mind on how I feel about historical stories and give more books a try. Read this book today and read the romance between Katie, Mason and Joe along with the psycho ex-father in law and ex-brother in law.

Tara Rustle has just spent her twenty-third birthday alone, just like her last six birthdays. She arrives home from work to find her home burning to the ground. This event is the crux of Tara's grief for the mother she lost six years previously and the loneliness she has endured, and she snaps.

Tara wakes up in the arms of two sexy, masculine men, Clay and Johnny Morten, in the town of Slick Rock, Colorado, with no memory. She feels comfortable with the two men, so when they offer her a job cooking for them on their ranch, she accepts their offer. Little does she know the two men were once her childhood neighbors.

Tara's memory returns. Clay and Johnny set about seducing the one woman they have lusted after for years. Everything seems to be progressing nicely, until an old flame of Johnny and Clay's turns up. Celia is insane and threatens Tara's life.
Will Clay and Johnny get to Tara in time to save her from a crazy ex-lover? Or will Celia win and end Tara's life?

Monica's Review

Well the Slick Rock Cowboys surely move fast to get the woman they have loved since she was a teenager. Only they are not as slick as they think with how they express their previous sexual relationship to her.

Tara is a strong woman but has been through hell and back. Since the day her and her mother left Slick Rock they have been struggling to survive. So it was not a huge surprise that she had a emotional/ mental breakdown. She felt so lonely, not loved out of place. So when she finds herself being consoled by two cowboys she feels safe but there is something about them but she can’t pinpoint what.

Clay and Johnny can’t believe that they finally have the woman they have loved in their arms and vow never to let her go but when her memory returns they find themselves giving her a good spanking for the cursing she is doing. They give her the pleasure they had dreamed about since the moment they realized that she had left town. Only that is not going to solve their problems and they know that she has had lived a life of hell since leaving her home town. They start to show her that she can live again and take her horse back riding and try to show her a good time. There’s only one problem when an old flame shows but at their doorstep all hell breaks loose.

Wow, I think I need to say this but this old flame is a complete crazy psycho woman that will do anything to get her men back. When Tara finds herself in a hit and run accident she thinks she is out of the woods with this woman. But think again Celia comes back and only to try to finish doing the job and confess a little secret.

This story had the same beginning as another book I read but a total different ending. Ms. Van was able to write this story with such believable characters with so much emotion and depth. She captures your attention with where Tara’s life has lead her to and you feel as if you are part of her journey in finding the one place where she knows she will be loved and she can love back. I love that she does not back down from her men and she is able to somewhat keep up her sassy attitude. She will keep them on their feet and they will love every minute of it.

Slick Rock Cowboys is an exceptionally well romance story. The love and pain that these characters share only makes them stronger, all you can do is fall in love with them. I am looking forward in reading more about this wonderful series Slick Rock.

Thunder Creek Ranch, 1

With a stalker following her every move Zakia has no choice but to flee the city. With her options limited she runs to the only place she's ever felt safe...the Thunder Creek Ranch and her ex-husband, Lucas.

Will he protect Zakia from the stalker? And if he does will either of them be able to ignore the feelings that have simmered for so long, ready to explode... before danger either draws them together or pulls them apart.

Monica's Review

Once you start this book, you won’t want to put it down. It’s filled with passion, suspense, happiness and a sense of finally being a family. One will do anything in order to keep their family safe from a crazy madman.

Zakia truly had a friend in which she could trust her life with. When she needed to flee her home Sam was there to help her with anything she needed. There was only one problem what if her ex-husband had a wife, children and would turn her away and not help her. When she left him she thought that he would come for her but he never went. She felt lonely in their home and felt that he did not want to share his ranch life with her. Then she wrote him a letter after she left to let him know what was happening with her but she never heard back. After time past she believed he did not care about her and the day came when she received the divorce papers. Even if that was a long time ago she knew that he could protect her but she knew once he found out about her secret he could make her leave but maybe he could care for the others and she would go back and face the stalker on her own.

When Luke sees Zakia he thinks he is dreaming but when she speaks he knows that she has come back but for what she is the one that left. When he learns of her kept secret he is enraged but cannot let her leave so he tries hard and acts somewhat civil to her. After spending time with Zakia and the others he finally feels that he is whole. He admits to himself that he has never stopped loving Zakia and there was no way that he would let her leave when they found her stalker.

Now as for the stalker he was smart, clever and not even her security system detected him. Then when he finds her at the ranch she is so frightened but she knows that Luke will keep her safe. Then he ends up entering Luke’s home and leaves her a nasty note on her mirror in her room. Anyone in there right mind would go into shock and that is what she did. But no matter what Luke was there to comfort her and tried to make her feel safe. But Luke knew that they needed to do the cattle run and hoped that once they were out in the open he would strike and mess up somewhere but wrong again. The stalker was able to capture Zakia and take her on a ride she would never forget, underground.

When Zakia showed up at the ranch last one night it was time for the truth to finally come into light. It was a chance to start over and have a family if and only Luke could forgive her. This story tells of their journey in becoming a family and trying to leave everything in the past in the past. It was gripped with emotions as Luke comes face to face with the secret that was kept from him but he does not waste time in making memories with them. I felt so happy for them because you could tell that they still loved each other but it was going to take time for Luke to trust again.

Zakia and the Cowboy is a joy to read and it will take you on a guessing game. I loved how their HEA ended because this time things will be different. I can’t wait to read Blake’s and Sam story next.

Jane's just inherited her late uncle's estate. But there's a catch. She has to ride along in a two-week-long cattle drive or she'll forfeit the ranch and money. The city girl doesn't have a clue where to start, so she advertises for three cowboys to assist her.

Chase, Brad and Dawson are hired to drive five thousand head of cattle across the prairies of Alberta. They expect their boss to be some spoiled rich boy looking for adventure, not a stunning woman with legs to die for. She's unlike any cowgirl—complaining, cursing, and driving them nuts with her forked tongue. It'll take some tying up and rough cowboy handling to teach the little siren how to behave.

Monica's Review

Mother Nature has a way of changing a person’s life perspective. Who knew that a feisty-stubborn city girl would be corralled by three sexy cowboys.

Jane Williams is a woman that enjoyed her freedom and left out emotions whenever she dated. She thought she had the perfect life but after entering her uncle’s home she thought twice of selling it. With her uncles death she is about to inherit his wealth but that comes with a ranch and cattle to care for. There is only one stipulation she must move five thousand head of cattle to greener pastures or she loses everything to her cousin. Jane is a city girl she knows nothing of what consists of a cattle drive so next step is to hire some cowboys.

Naturally she takes the challenge and hires three cowboys to help her with her journey, Dawson Reed, Brad McCay and Chase Garner. When Jane meets Dawson she knows she is in trouble because her body is overheating. Then she meets Brad and Chase and wonders if all cowboys are this mouth watering. Jane tries her best to keep this journey business base only and not explore the bodies of these sexy cowboys.

With her belligerent attitude, she’s lucky if they don’t quit on her or even worse leave her out in the wilderness and finish the cattle drive without her. Brad knows how to talk to her and makes her feel secure, safe but he is only risking breaking his heart. Jane knows that she wants to submit to the cowboys but she finds it difficult due to choices that her parents made. Each cowboy has a reason for needing the ten thousand dollars Jane is going to pay them when the job is done but are their intentions good. Sure two cowboys need it for their families but one is a little shady. Can they make it to there destination on time or will someone try to sabotage this journey?

The pace of the story was slower at the beginning but picked up later in the story. The foursome relationship seemed a it couldn't work because they each had their own baggage. Even if they were all uncommitted it seemed that they needed to break from their families with the exception of one. Still, the four of them had great chemistry even when it seemed that they would kill each other. I liked the determination of all three cowboys and how they worked together in order for Jane to make her deadline even if it meant not getting paid. This story is more of an emotional based story rather than a sexual based. Sure Jane also needed to let go and just let them take care of her but of course that meant letting her guard down.

The story is unique and the characters are interesting. I would definitely recommend this story to readers looking for a hot ménage relationship that starts off a little on the rough side but they strive to make the relationship work.

Emma Duncan is independent, reserved, and prickly as hell, a spitfire with enough secrets to keep her living behind fortified walls. Ty Whelan is convinced Emma is the wild, willing, and strong woman he and his brothers have waited half their lifetime for.

But the romance author’s past has chased her to the town of Liberty Springs, Wyoming.
Psychological scars hold her back from embracing the carnal bliss and emotional security the Whelans offer, while a twisted madman threatens her very existence.

Emma strives to overcome the grip of a man who has terrorized her for half a decade and admit that she has room in her heart for Zach and Colby as well as Ty.

With hard bodies and big hearts, they entice her to accept all they have to offer and revel in the affections of three very different men...

Because, girls, there’s "no bag limit" in Liberty Springs.

Monica's Review

Well after reading the whole book I could not stop myself from reading the prologue again to see which horse best resembles Ty, Zach and Colby. I could not see any of them as a Show Pony or a Performance Horse. The only ones that stuck out to me were the Problem Horse, the Workhorse, and the Keeper. Then you have the Fantasy Ride and all I have to say about that is that is does come true.

Emma is a woman with strength, love and compassion, ready to fight in order to survive when danger would present itself. She has an amazing career as a writer but she also has a ranch to run where her horses help disabled kids. I loved her playful personality especially with Zach and Colby. Emma was different with Ty maybe because he was the eldest but he held her heart from the beginning. Emma was truly loved by the cowboys but danger lurks in the shadows and appears when it is least expected. Her strength is tested when one of the Whelan’s brothers is shot by a madman that has been sending her threatening letters.

When Ty shows up at her ranch ready to care for her horses, Emma is not able to resist admiring his ass. Then when Ty is ready to leave the only payment he seeks is a kiss but he will seek it later when his brothers are present. Zach and Colby were the happiest cowboys around when they each got a kiss from Emma but they knew it was going to take a little bit more time to have her take all three of them. When the cowboys find out that someone has been sending threatening letters to Emma they are frantic because now she is missing. When they find her and view a tape of what she went through they know she is a special woman. When they come up with a plan to capture the madman, the cowboys never thought that they would be losing the woman that had claimed their hearts.

The sexual heat in this story is enough to bring steam to your e-reader. The three Whelan brothers are so yummy it’s hard not to want one, to feel that sexual ecstasy that they show Emma. The development of their relationship is truly special and they created the perfect balance. Some of the sex scenes left me smiling even well after they happened. I loved how all the three men had different personalities and with that brought different sex lifestyles.

Well Ms. Cole has done it again with this book. I finished reading this book and craved for the next book in this series. My only disappointment was small editing errors in the book. It was slow at the beginning but it truly picked up pace and it owned my heart. I enjoyed how they became lovers and how happy they were even when they were separated for a small amount of time.

Pick up a copy of No Bag Limit! You won’t be disappointed. Believe me I have already looked into buying the second book in this series and read the story of Jory and Bailey.
