Dead or Alive? Courageous Amanda Bodreaux has no idea if her secretive husband is dead or alive. He's run off leaving her to fight in an aggressive man's world with a pistol in her dainty hand. When a strikingly handsome and mysterious man shows up needing a wife, Amanda figures his problems, whatever they might be, aren't hers. How wrong can a woman be?

Hunter's Review

I think this is a very fast, very fun historical read with strong writing and a compelling plot.

Amanda Bodreuax has not had an easy time. Her life has been hard since her secretive husband ran away leaving her to fend for herself. She has no interest in men—except for holding out the hope that her husband might actually come back for her.

Emery is a man of secrets but something he is really not secretive about is his desire for Amanda.

I enjoyed Amanda and Emery as a heroine and a hero and I thought they had great chemistry. My only suggestion would have been that I would have liked to have seen more of Amanda. Some of her actions could have used a little more explanation behind this. This is a product of how short, and fast the book actually is. For the briefness of the read, Ms. Goode did a great job of making it thorough enjoyable read.
