Hunter’s Review

I am torn about this short story. On one hand, I have never read anything like it and I read constantly. On the other, I was left very disappointed by the end of the book and kind of unsure of what actually happened, which is actually a good thing too. Sheesh. I really I’m not being clear. Let me back up.

Kyra is a gossip writer located in Paris. She lives with her cat, Camelot and within the course of several days makes a bunch of decisions that ultimately leads to a very strange ending. My real problem? The author tried to do too much in 13,000 words. There were too many characters, too many plot twists, despite the fact that I loved, loved, loved the heroine’s smart, funny first person voice I still am not really sure what was going on by the end of the book.

I think that Kyra was very captivating and I think people looking for something a little bit different will enjoy this odd little book.

Hunter's Review

Clarissa Yip has become a must-read for me. In this book, she has taken a short story and done all the right things with it. While brief, she expertly set up conflict, plot, heat, and familial relationships. I left the story feeling like I had spent a lot of time with the people in the story.

James and Melissa are fantastic. They have heat when they look at each other and they steam in the bedroom. I just adored it. I think fans of really good writing and really hot love scenes will ADORE this book. I did.

Hunter’s Review

I don’t really think its appropriate to read a short story and then complain that I think the story should be longer. I love brief short stories. But, I do require something to happen in the story that makes it worthwhile to read.

Anna is a very nice character and Jared seems the same. She is eighteen and has a crush on her guardian, Jared, the Duke. Jared arrives home, proposes to her, and they have very hot, first time sex. The story is over. There is no conflict to this story, nothing to make it seemingly difficult for them to get together, except perhaps Anna’s nagging doubts at the beginning that she could ever want anyone but him.

This story is very well written, the love scene is steamy, but it seems unfinished to me. I do, however, think that anyone who likes to read a hot sex scene would enjoy reading the one here.

The story is unique and interesting. I felt for these characters. Having loved the first book, I was so happy to see the next generation of the story to see what happens next. All I can say is Bravo for this book and I can’t wait to read more from her.

I came upon this book after a friend recommended it to me and I just had to review it here today. I loved it.

At first, I wasn’t sure how I was going to like this book. It starts out seeming like a third person narrative with two characters interacting and talking about things we, as the readers, don’t really understand. Abruptly, it changes into a first person urban fantasy. I’ll admit it that I found that to be a little jarring. It is my hope that when the authors write the next book in the series that they don’t do that shift from 3rd to 1st that they did in this one.

But, then I was hooked because the main character—Azaleigh—is so incredibly likable and interesting that I really wanted to keep reading about the whirlwind that was her life. Not to mention, Kale was an incredibly hot character. He was so clearly hiding his feelings and—sigh—who doesn’t love a good hero like that? But then, just as I thought I understood where the story was going—it changed again. Now, Kale was out—maybe—and Gage (equally romantic) burst into the scene. I wasn’t sure who I rooted for. So I kept reading. The end of the book had me gasping for air and groaning at the same time.

This book is the first in a new series. Not all the questions are answered and I loved that. Now, I just have to find out when the next one is coming. But, do be aware—while there is plenty of tension between Kale, Gage, and Az, there is no actual consummation of any of it. As I think this is supposed to be a developing story for Az, I don’t mind waiting a bit to see an actual love scene although I did find that there were none to be slightly disappointing.

In any case, I can’t say enough good things about this. When is the next one coming??

Hunter's Review

This was the type of book that once upon a time made me fall in love with Romance Novels. Ms. Cox has done what is so hard ot find—she has taken two interesting characters, given them great chamistry, a romantic setting and made romance blossom.

Matt is hot, despite his difficult ways and Luce is wonderful and extremely likable. I cried at the end because I was so overjoyed. I recommend this book highly.

I loved this little story. Diamond is a great, likable character. The way Ashley Ladd lets her see the world as both a cat and a human is incredibly well done. I loved reading her.

Eddit is funny and enjoyable. He is the guy next door thrust into unusual circumstances. The love scenes are hot. I can highly recommend this book.

I really enjoyed this story. Ms. Pierce does a wonderful job of making interesting, well-defined characters admist this hot futuristic romance that has plenty of sex for the reader that likes erotic works.

The book starts out with a sexy high note and does not let go until the end. It isn’t a long tale and I found I was transfixed to my e-reader wanting to know what was going to happen next.

Don’t miss this one.
