Haven Smith is a shifter who has never shifted. She spends her evenings protecting women and children from the men who would hurt them. She likes her solitary life just fine, until one night she meets a man who changes her world forever. Adam is determined to take Haven to meet the family she doesn’t remember and show her that she deserves love--his love.

Yadkny’s Review

Haven is a wolf shifter who has never shifted. She made a promise to her mother who had told her that it was bad to shift because her father was very aggressive and abusive. Her vigilante lifestyle allows her to protect women and children from abusers while also satisfying her need to keep her inner wolf at bay. However, in the quiet of her apartment, she still goes to extreme measures in order to keep her promise to her mother and not shift. She believes she’s all alone in this world with no family to fall back on, but all that’s about to change.

Adam is a wolf shifter who works security for Haven’s brother Nolan who is also the pack’s alpha. He was sent by her brother to watch over Haven and bring her back when the time came. He’s also given the task of revealing to Haven some very important information about her life, which will turn her world upside down, but he wants to stick around to help her through it even if she says no.

Outstanding start to the Alexander Wolves series! Sierra Summers knows what makes us tough girls tick and gave Haven all the attributes of a street-smart warrior woman. She fights the good fight instead of cowering in a corner because of bad past experiences. Every strong woman needs an even stronger man and that’s where Adam is absolutely wonderful and I’m sure every girl’s dream guy. He’s supportive, caring, and most importantly knows what Haven needs even if she doesn’t. I had to give a heat rating of 3 because the visuals were just that stimulating. Sierra’s descriptions of the sex scenes and the dialogue between the characters during, was some of the most fantastically raunchy I’ve ever read! I was also impressed with how much plot was packed into this short story and I’m looking forward to getting to know the rest of the cast throughout the series. There is definitely much more to come and I can’t wait!

Recommended reading for those that love a good rough and tumble both in and out of the sack.
