Will destiny be enough to break her free of a lifetime of secrets?
Knox, the Seeker, has waited two hundred years for his Watcher and now he’s found her. Paxtyn, however, is unwilling to join him. The more he tries to prove himself to her, the more she pushes him away.
Paxtyn has spent a lifetime keeping her secret hidden from the world, but now, she must confront these deadly visions head on. When a string of murders brings her into New Orleans, she must come to terms with her personal demons and use her gift to communicate with spirits to discover who has ended their lives.
Hunter’s Review
I gave Ms. Kennedy’s book, The Willow, a hard time when I reviewed it. There were things about it that I found difficult to take. This book, however, A Deadly Whisper, published by Cobblestone Press is not going to get any trouble from me. It is utterly fantastic!
Paxtyn sees dead people. Or, rather, when she passes over a place where someone has been murdered by a demon, she sees their distressing death. Enter Knox, he is a Seeker who, although he looks thirty, has been searching for Paxtyn his entire two hundred and nine years on the planet. Paxtyn is actually a descendent of angels who fell to earth to help save humanity from destruction by demons. Only she doesn’t know it yet. Boy does her life change abruptly and reading every second of it is a joy.
From the moment they spot each other, Knox and Paxtyn have great chemistry that sizzles off the pages. Ms. Kennedy has just enough snarkiness in this book to be amusing and not overwhelm the book with it. The readers will find themselves snickering and crying with the characters.
I highly recommend this book. Read it, go get it right away.
