The only thing standing between this fallen angel and redemption? The woman he loves.

Eons ago, Seth fell for another angel—literally—and was cast down from the Heavens. Seeking redemption, he works for the Angels of Death, taking the lives of those destined to die, his only desire to return home. But everything changes when a beautiful brunette explodes into his life and plunges his ordered world into chaos, tempting him with something he hasn’t experienced in millennia. Love.

A busted radiator strands Lyndi Garrison on a deserted stretch of coastal Maine and shoves her directly into the path of a sexual predator. She fends off her attacker until an NFL-sized stranger appears from the darkness to help. She’s instantly enamored of her quiet hero, and before the evening ends, they share a devastating kiss and a knock-out round of sex unlike anything she’s ever known. Though she can’t help but wonder… Has she finally received a second chance at happiness? Or is Fate being a bitch again?

Denise’s Review

Temptation is one of those books you don’t expect; to understand my reaction to it might be better placed if I start with some context. I began reading this book last week after learning my husband’s grandmother, whose health had faded dramatically over the last two years, had passed away.

I really enjoyed the quiet, thoughtful bits of solace I’ve stolen in Ms. Evans touching novel about a disgraced angel working his way back to salvation. We meet Seth, who became classified as a fallen angel when love steered his priorities from the Divine. He has since taken up with the Angels of Death as—for lack of a better word—a staffer who does the dirty work. Seth encounters the foul-mouthed, wounded Lyndi Garrison on one of his assignments, and intervenes against his better judgment to save her from a cruel fate.

I’ve read a good number of erotic paranormal romances that take on religious themes, and they tend to exceed my expectations every time. While Temptation is no exception, it felt like a different sort of paranormal from the get-go—intertwining both hotter-than-you-know-what sexual encounters with well rounded characters whose emotional connection, while rushed, never seems forced, making for a thrilling erotic read.

However, the erotic element—while truly spicy—wasn’t what I took away from the novel. For me, the underlying themes were sacrifice, courage, and recovery. If you’re looking for a read with evolved characters, depth, and let’s face it, seriously hot sex, this is the book for you.
