Hello? All you people who are aching for something new in the paranormal romance genre? Yes, you. This is a paranormal romance novel without a single vampire or werewolf. Adrienne Wilder has created a world where Kin and people interact. Kin? Dragons. Dragons! Who would have thought. I have read other books where dragons can use their magic to take on human form, so the concept wasn't completely foreign to me, but they were just a small portion of the story. I know that there are plenty of fantasy books about dragons, or dragon riders, where people in the past or present and their dragons go on a quest. This is not a fantasy novel. This is a book set in modern times, but the modern times in the book includes dragons living among humans.

Blood Bonds had aspects of a medical, suspense thriller. It was a journey with a paranormal creature with a new mythology. It was a love story. Too many times, I've seen books with this many things going on, become conflicted between everything the author is trying do in a story. Adrienne Wilder pulled it off seamlessly. The only bad thing I can think of to say is that I wish she had put more elements of Atlanta into the story, but that may be just because I would recognize the landmarks.

I loved this book. I can't wait to read the next one.
