Nexi Jones can never catch a break. With only just returning from a much needed vacation--a deadly Werewolf attack takes place in Plymouth, Minnesota. In pursuit for answers, Nexi finds herself face-to-face with someone she desperately wanted to avoid, Magnus, the Lord of the Underworld. He hasn’t forgotten her and will stop at nothing to use her magical abilities for his personal gain.
Soon, Nexi will be in a battle far worse than conjuring Magic against those of the Underworld. The fiercest battle rages within her as her soul combats against her heart to decide Nexi’s fate. Will all that matters--will everyone she loves--be lost forever?
Hunter’s Review
This is the third book in Stacey Kennedy’s Magical Sword series. The first book made me a little crazy and the second book was really, really fantastic. I have to say that this one is on par with the second book. Ms. Kennedy really seems to have found her stride with this series.
Nexi is a very interesting character who keeps having terrible things happen to her. The good news? She has a very loyal love and a great group of friends around her. Since I’ve just read the first two books I feel a little bit like these characters are old friends I’m getting to see again after a brief time apart.
But, for me, the end of this book wrapped up very fast. One second one thing is happening and the next it’s not. I don’t want to say more than that because I don’t want to give away the end. I do understand that Nexi is meant to be exceptional and the end is meant to illustrate this. I buy it. But I would have liked it to have gone on a little bit longer, to really have played up an internal struggle.
Having said that, this is a great book and you should read it.
