Blurb

A tumble down the stairs lands Carly back in the arms of her ex-husband.

After the loss of a child tears her marriage apart, Carly vows she’ll never speak to her soon-to-be ex-husband Chance again. On the eve of their divorce, however, Carly takes a stroll down memory lane and calls Chance.

A passionate one night stand between the two is shattered by cruel light of morning. With reality having set back in, Carly admits to Chance she made a mistake, forcing him to come to grips that there is no hope left for their marriage.

Fate has other plans for them. Carly’s fall down some stairs leaves her with amnesia…but that’s only the start of it.

Can deception bring a second chance at love or will it forever destroy an already broken marriage?

Clare’s Review

When Carly loses her memory, she loses the last 4 years of her life, including memories of her very recent divorce. Not convinced it will help her Chance nevertheless honours his ex-father in laws request and pretends he and Carly are still married. He takes her home to his ranch as his wife. He still loves her and is thrilled to have her back in his life, albeit temporarily. Chance knows it won’t be easy keeping the truth from Carly and she doesn’t make it easy either as she tries to help him on the ranch.

I read this in two sittings only pausing to cook dinner for the kids. The characters are lifelike with both flaws and good points. The story is at times heart wrenching and amusing, making me both smile and find the tissues. A real page turner, Rhonda Lee Carver has created a tale where past, present and future collide.
