Abandoned by her father, Clarissa falls headlong into Pierce’s arms and succumbs to his daring seduction. Her nights with him become a blur of intense desire as he brings her innocent body to life.

But as deception threatens to tear them apart, Clarissa must uncover some long-kept secrets and decide whether or not she can entrust her heart in the hands of her lover forever.

Hunter's Review

I really wanted to love this book. It had all the elements of a great read. I’m a huge fan of historical romance. But, I think that, ultimately, for me, this book dragged and it was hard for me to care about Clarissa when I wanted to shake some sense into her.

Having said that, Pierce is a hot character with a lot of charm and dark undertones that works very well. I found that the book moved at a better pace when Pierce was in the scene.

I think that fans of historical romance who want to read a hot hero will enjoy this story by Scarlet Scott.
