Wyatt Hansen has no fears about commitment, but only three years have passed since his beloved wife died, and he can't bring himself to break their annual dinner date-that is until he meets restaurant owner, Lara Farr. Lara doesn't have time for romance; she has a business to run. At least that's what she tells herself so she doesn't have to admit that commitment scares her. But Lara's business is failing, and it just may take a miracle-or marketing analyst, Wyatt Hansen-to save it. Can Wyatt rescue Lara's restaurant, help her overcome her fears, and prove he is good husband material?

Clare's Review

When Lara first sets eyes on Wyatt, she is drawn to the sense of loss emanating from him. Only when he turns up for dinner, alone on Valentine's Day at the restaurant she owns, does she find out why.

A lovely story of love the second time around, this short story (dollar download) from Annette M Irby, isn't short on emotion or details. With warm and loveable characters, and an engaging storyline, this book will hold a place in your heart after the last page is turned.

Jeremy "JB" Edwards dreams of one thing: Having a loving wife and children of his own. Not a surprising ambition, since he was raised at the heart of a large, tight-knit family.

Monica Kittelski spends her days at Sunny Horizons Daycare Center pouring her heart and faith into other people's children. But Monica harbors one impossible dream: Having children of her own someday.

JB and Monica seem the perfect match, but what will come of their electric, sassy relationship when Jeremy learns of Monica's infertility?

Hopes and reality collide when they must confront the idea of finding God's plan and following His will when a dearest hope is destined to remain unfulfilled.

Can these two loving, passionate hearts survive a communion of dreams and reality?

Clare's Review

The third in the Woodland Series, Heart’s Communion tells the story of JB and Monica. JB, from book one, comes from a large family and wants nothing more than to leave his business to his kids. Monica, on the other hand, knows a family is not on the cards and throws herself into running her daycare centre and ballet school and pouring her love on those children in her care.

Dealing with the hard hitting issue of infertility, Ms. Evans has penned a novel that doesn’t hold back the punches. Affecting a vast number of couples, yet never spoken about, infertility has rocked Monica to the core. How can she follow God’s plan and yet fulfill her own ambition and keep the man she’s fallen for?

Not to be missed, this book keeps you reading, smiling and crying til the last page.

After surviving a fire, Noelle Walker is finished with undergoing unsuccessful operations to eliminate facial scars and to restore the use of her hand. Her neighbor, owing his life to Noelle's selfless rescue, finances her Valselo pilgrimage where she might experience the living presence of the Mother of God. Noelle silently prays to receive the miracle of self-acceptance so that she might live normally despite her gnawing self-consciousness about her appearance.

When she meets the handsome Shane Thompson, his avid, romantic attention makes Noelle believe that perhaps miracles do happen in the quaint Adriatic village. The renowned maxillofacial surgeon doesn't seem to care that her hand is crippled and her face is scarred-that is until he claims he can give her "her miracle."

Noelle survived the fire, but will she survive her broken heart after concluding Shane's interest is conditional on fixing her appearance?

Will Shane acknowledge that only God can perform miracles, and can he convince Noelle that he loves her regardless of her scars, and not because of them?

Clare's Review

Noelle and Shane’s story is lovingly and beautifully told in volume 2 of the Gospa Journeys. Injured saving her neighbours life in a fire, Noelle is left with severe scarring. All she wants is a miracle, to be able to accept the way she is now. Shane, an eminent plastic surgeon, falls for her the instant he meets her, and is convinced he is her miracle.

KM Daughters have penned another wonderful story of love, faith and hope. We catch up with characters we already met, and meet new ones, all set in amazingly detailed scenery. Proving that God knows best and works miracles in His own way, this story is not to be missed.

Blurb

When Caroline flees Chicago following the brutal murder of her husband, the last thing she expects--or wants--is to fall for Matt Carlson, a builder with strong roots in the small town of Mountainview, Tennessee. She needs to focus on raising her six-year-old daughter and protecting both their hearts from ever being shattered again.

Matt is struggling with issues of his own...guilt over the death of his wife and the responsibility of raising a cynical teenaged nephew who is dropped on his doorstep, abandoned by Matt's alcoholic sister. He doesn't have time to fall in love, yet he can't help being drawn to the woman who is ready to defend her home--and her daughter--with nothing more than a fiesty attitude and a broom handle.

Can Matt's help and friendship convince Caroline to trust again...and when Caroline's daughter goes missing, will Matt be able to find the girl before it's too late and he loses everything he loves...again?

Clare's Review

From first to last this amazing story grips the reader and pulls them in. Widow and single mum Caroline inherits her aunts house in the country. Fleeing the memories of her husbands brutal murder, she very nearly brains her neighbour, Matt, as soon as she arrives. Matt, a widower, is also a surrogate single parent, bringing up his nephew Paul. Both bruised by the past, they have to learn to move on.

This book is unputdownable as it's beliveable and loveable characters leap from the pages. Ms Manners conveys a rich depth of emotion on each page, going from laughter to tears to heart stopping moments almost effortlessly. Throughout the story, God's love is evident, as is His guiding hand on every situation. Not so much as each cloud having a silver lining, but finding the treasures that the clouds can bury, this story is a treasure in itself.

Can Lukas prove his devotion, and can Margaret learn to trust that both Lukas and God want only what's best for her?

Clare's Review

Can second chances happen? Is it possible for love to come again once the moment has gone? This debut novel by Ms Snow explores that in a wonderful story. Margaret leaves all she knew after the death of her husband, to start a new life in a new town. Only Lukas seems determined to reclaim her heart, one piece at a time. Filled with spring flowers and hope, this story of love and faith is one to not to be missed.

After firefighter Rainn Harris rescues Geneva Carson from being stuck in a tree, she feels she owes him. Helping to care for his autistic niece comes easy, but her attraction to Rainn is a different story. Being drawn to a man twelve years her junior metes internal havoc as Geneva attempts to balance responsibility and personal fulfillment. And the prospect of becoming a middle-aged mom to a special-needs child sends Geneva into a tailspin of conflicting emotions.

As the custodial parent for his young niece, Rainn is determined to be a better parent than his absentee sister. When Geneva agrees to help care for Mia, Rainn is overjoyed. He admires Geneva's compassion and enthusiasm for life, and expects she'll be a positive influence on Mia. What he doesn't expect is to fall in love with the beautiful and vital woman. But Geneva's hung up on their age difference, and he must convince her of his sincerity before they will ever have a chance at happiness together.

As tension threatens to pull them apart, both must learn to rely on the Lord to direct their futures-whether that means two lives joined or paths in opposite directions.

Monica's Review

Trust in God and he will lead the way. Believe in the path that he is setting for you to be the right path and that he will not let you down. There will be hurdles that you will have to find a way over, but believe that he will not give you something that you cannot handle.

Geneva had a rough first marriage and has a way of making sure she is doing things for herself and making sure that no one is taking advantage of her. She has some issues that she needs to resolve in order for her to believe that she is following the correct path that God has envisioned for her. Geneva can not get it out of her mind of her age difference from Rainn but worst of all she believes that he is taking advantage of her. Once she is able to overcome her fear she is able to finally give into the feelings that she has for Rainn and she now believes that she will be a wonderful mother to Mia.

Well, what can I say about Rainn, he is an amazing man that knew what he wanted in life. He knew exactly what he felt for Geneva even if she did not. There was only one problem, Mia. After he was able to balance life with Mia in the picture, now he set his mind that the only way he would be complete would be if Geneva was in his life. Rainn also needs to be able to have closure with his parents in order to be able to close a chapter in his life. Mia means the world to him and he will make an excellent father, attentive and warm.

There was just one thing that I would have loved to have read that is to let Geneva talk to Mia and let her know she would be her mom and Rainn would be her father. Don’t get me wrong I loved that she was finally able to overcome her fear but it would have been great if the ending would have included Mia since Mia had made the suggestion. Other than that I understood how Geneva felt she needed to make sure that felt loved, cherished because her last marriage did not make her feel whole. She was incomplete.

Overall the story was beautiful and the flow was excellent. There were times when I was reading that I noticed that I had tears falling but most of all I enjoyed how heartwarming it felt. If you want a book that proves that you have a meaningful path in life then you need to read Rainn on my Parade. God is truly wonderful.

Blurb

Audrey Rhodes once walked the straight and narrow, but a terrible mistake changed the direction her life. Now former boyfriend and bad boy, Brent Thomason, is back in Blithe Settlement claiming newfound faith in God. Audrey's feelings for Brent haven't changed, but she has. Her life is in shambles. How can she be worthy of this new Brent's love?

Brent Thomason isn't proud of his past. Audrey had been his friend and his love, and he betrayed her. Now a veterinarian, he's returned home to work with Audrey's dad and make restitution for his misdeeds. Brent finds it's not so easy for people to accept his changed ways; still he must make things right with those he hurt, starting with Audrey.

As God directs their paths, Audrey discovers forgiveness is a two-edged sword...especially when she must first forgive herself. And Brent must accept God's will...even if it means losing Audrey a second time.

Clare's Review

Bad boy turned good, Brent, returns to his home town in search of a job and to put right all the wrong he did, starting with the one girl who really mattered to him, Audrey. Audrey, on the other hand, wants nothing to do with ‘what’s-his-name’ – the man she sees as responsible for everything that’s gone wrong in her life—from her loss of faith to the wrong relationship choices she made. The only problem is she still loves him.

This heart-warming tale of betrayal, faith and forgiveness keeps your attention throughout. I read it in two sittings and enjoyed every moment. With lots of action, drama, wonderful characters and a brilliant twist, this is definitely one to read.

Blurb

Despite Sam Mackenzie's deep-rooted belief that marriage can turn two loving people into monsters, his all-encompassing love for Emma Jordan spurs him to propose before leaving the country bound for Valselo, the Adriatic village where millions believe the Mother of God speaks to three visionaries.

Despite Emma's love for Sam, she is unable to envision a life in a remote town on a distant continent. Emma refuses his proposal and spends the next three years making a life without Sam. When she's left at the altar, a loving conspiracy between her parents and parish priest-Sam's uncle-brings Emma to Valselo and an inevitable reunion with Sam. God seems to be orchestrating a second chance, but both believe they have had good reasons to turn away from God's guidance. Will they listen to Our Lady's messages which call humanity to open their hearts to God's mercy and love? Or will they lose each other a second and final time?

Clare's Review

Emma’s world is destroyed twice in three years—once when Sam leaves and again when Jonathan leaves her standing at the altar. When she is talked into attending a religious pilgrimage to the very place Sam left her for, she goes reluctantly—on the condition she can avoid Sam, the one man she still loves after all this time. On arrival she realises she can’t escape her past after all as Sam is waiting at the airport.

This short story by K.M. Daughters is as enthralling and enchanting as all their others as both Sam and Emma learn to put what God wants first, faith and love really do go hand in hand.
