Ross MacDougal demands vengeance on the men who killed his young cousin, but his Clan Chief, older half-brother Gillis, insists that he produce an heir. Without one, they’ll lose their ranch to their brutish brother in Texas when their father dies. But no woman would marry the man known as the MacDougal Devil. An Eastern contract bride is the only way to save the ranch.

Amelia Smathers is desperate for her own home. Before dying of lung complications, her older sister Prudence insists that Amelia marry Nevin MacDougal, her husband Gillis’s kindly younger brother. Eyes tearing in grief, Amelia signs the marriage contract and heads west.

Amelia is shocked to discover a different husband, but Ross’s erotic touch soothes her. Still, she’s expected to share herself, just like Beth Elliott, their closest neighbor. Beth’s heated description of sharing three men has Amelia both alarmed and aroused. Then Ross’s past catches up with them...

Monica's Review

Demons come in all forms but also saviors, protectors.

A bride is about to meet her new husband but she has a surprise coming when she meets him. Not only is she already married before even seeing him but there is his brother and also her brother-in-law whom was married to her sister.

Amelia Samthers’ sister, Prudence, has passed away and it is time for her to fulfill her promise to her sister. Amelia is very unsure about her looks due to escaping a burning home saving two children and now sees that this is the only way for her to find a husband. She has a flaring little temper but good for her because she will keep her new husband on his feet. She is a smart woman and has a mind of her own and not scared to use it. Amelia will need it with what is going to happen in her life with her new family, she will have to keep her head up high and fight with all her might in order for her to have the family she has always wanted.

Ross MacDougal is half Indian and white and considered a half-breed. He has lived a life that no young man should have to live especially in the hands of his own father. Ross walks into town with his head held high and people squirming to get out of his way. There is a reason why they call him MacDougal Devil, but soon his temper will be known and hopefully he can let go of his anger. He loves Amelia but he can’t let anyone near his heart because of his shame that he believed he caused his family. In his eyes, he is only going to do one thing and that is get his wife pregnant.. All that changes when he finally realizes that he might have lost the most important thing in his life, his wife and child.

I loved the plot of the story with all the twist and turns of the love story. The way that she admired a handsome rugged man in her hotel room not knowing that she was actually looking at her husband.  He walked the street with confidence.  Amelia gained self-confidence in her self and did not feel like she needed to cover up her scars and learned how to overcome her fear. Gillis, Prudence's husband, was able to overcome his grief and find someone to be able to hold, but no matter what his love would always be Prudence. They are such a wonderful family that is so giving and willing to give anything and share everything.

I would recommend this story to anyone who enjoys a sensual erotic story of a romance brewing in the MD Ranch that will have you squirming for more. When you get a chance, read the first story of this series and see how the bride train started in this Montana Territory.
