An ancient civilization with lost magic that could change the world...

A desperate battle between two men and the woman they both want for different reasons.

Danielle Taylor thought she was leaving behind the chaos of the big city, as well as the memory of her unfaithful boyfriend, when she bought the old country farm house on the internet, site unseen...

However, the moment she stepped foot on the abandoned property, she was confronted with disturbing clues about the mysterious disappearance of its previous owner, a local professor at the nearby university.
When she accidentally uncovers what is surely a priceless and stunning ceremonial mask, buried in secrecy on the grounds of the country estate, she begins to suspect the missing professor may have had more than a little accident in Peru.

Even in her wildest dreams, she never thought she'd find herself standing inside the secluded and undiscovered ruins of a pre-Incan civilization, with a man who has unlocked the secrets of an ancient power, and who has opened her heart to a passion she never thought possible.

Dodie's Review

Danielle realizes she is in a disastrous relationship and decides to lose not only the boyfriend, but also the life she was living. In an effort to completely wipe her slate clean, she leaves the city life and buys a house in the country – sight unseen. As she explores her new house, she discovers the house's previous owner was the sexy and missing Professor Jake Wilde. The more she learns about the Professor, the more intrigued she becomes. Danielle ends up on a trip to Peru to discover the truth about Jake and ancient artifact she discovered.

This book was like stepping into a National Geographic with a HOT tour guide. Kimberly Adkins really did a fabulous job describing Peru, and Danielle's trip up the mountain. The only thing missing were more scenes between Danielle and Jake to really cement the romance between the two of them. Her burgeoning relationship with Jake, the intrigue involved in keeping the mask from the bad guys, the significance of the mask and its importance to the other plots. Everything was tied into a tight bundle by the end of the book, with a satisfying resolution and a HEA for sure.
