Normally, genies grant wishes but Cala Lowery, a 310-year-old half-blood jinn needs a few granted herself. If she doesn’t find a new master before the Queen of the Jinn finds her, she'll be auctioned off on eBay... again.

Cursed by the Queen for supposedly flirting with the King, Cala’s auctioned off to the highest bidder on eBay. Her luck fails again when her master trades her in. She’s thrust into the world of humans with dwindling magical abilities which often misfire. Cala begins a desperate search for a new master to regain her powers and avoid being listed on eBay for a second humiliating time.

Her new job as an Entertainment editor and mystery e-dater for a newspaper’s online dating site brings in plenty of candidates, gives her a taste of independence and reunites her with the victim of her one-time one-night-stand, Lee.

Lee forgives Cala for an incident with a leaky pepper spray can during their first meeting. Their relationship skyrockets until Cala finds herself struggling to keep her career and potential new master when someone tries to sabotage her column and expose her identity to Lee, who happens to have a secret identity himself.

Ronica’s Review

I really liked the premise of this book with genies as masters of their own lives rather than the Genie in a bottle story line that we have come to expect. While Cala’s situation is special as a disgraced half Genie, she still wants independence and love rather than a master.

This book has a lot of classic romance elements that I have come to expect: secrets, conflict, steamy sex, a bad guy (female in this case) scheming against the heroine, miscommunications, and trust issues. Cala and Lee’s misunderstandings and communication problems get a head start with embarrassment followed by heat and then pepper spray. Throw in a fear of another eBay experience along with some serious internet dating, and we have a winner! You’ll have to read it to believe it.

Kate finds herself locked up in her apartment building’s laundry room. It’s the middle of the night and there’s a man with her. Which would be the great start of a horror movie, except this is real and thankfully the man isn’t that bad. Actually, he’s quite nice. Oh, and hot. He’s a neighbor she’s seen a few times, the playboy with the golden looks. And as they find themselves sitting increasingly closer in an effort not to freeze to death, hands bump into parts of her body that haven’t been touched in years.

It could have stopped at that: one night of pleasure, albeit in a weird location. Except it doesn’t. Even though she knows Jace has another girlfriend, she still opens her door to him every night. He is addictive. And sometimes, he’s even nice. But what happens when the drama finally takes its toll and she bars her door to him?

Ronica’s Review

This quick and dirty short story is about a liaison that starts with Kate and Jace locked in a basement laundry room over night. And the relationship progresses, so to speak, from there. Based primarily in the apartment complex where both main characters live, this book is a fast read with naughty sex scenes and a hot-blooded relationship. Add in Jace’s daytime girlfriend and Kate’s need for a public connection, and everything heats up to a big finale.

Ancient artifacts. A vengeful assassin. A beautiful woman. For Section agent, Lucius Capri it's just another day on the job.

For Romy Douglass, the abandoned daughter of Florida millionaire, Miles Douglass, the jade and emerald idol is the last in a long line of similar gifts from her father. Dubbed by Romy as the Tin Gods, the statues are daily reminders of Miles’s failure as a father and her disappointment as a daughter—that is until the night they’re stolen and her house vandalized while she’s on a date with the sexiest man alive.

Lucius Capri thought his assignment for the covert government agency titled, the Section, would be a quick snatch and grab to reclaim the priceless South American artifacts stolen by Miles Douglass. Who knew from his first contact with his mark, Romy, that nothing about the case or his feelings for her would be business as usual? With the statues missing and the infamous assassin, El Lobizon, on their trail, Lucius must decide which is more important, closing the biggest case of his career or allowing himself to fully trust the woman he’s come to love.

Ronica’s Review

The three words that best describe this book are adventure, intrigue, and sexy. It was a very good combination.

Romy Douglass leads a quiet life, avoiding relationships of any kind whenever possible. And then a handsome stranger invites himself to sit at her table during lunch at the deli. Suddenly her life is full of stolen idols, her estranged father’s secrets, a sexy “Section” agent, and a hitman ordered to kill her.

Lucious Capri is an agent for The Section, just trying to complete a mission. But then he meets the mark and his thoughts start to revolve around her rather than the mission. How does he complete the mission but still keep her close and safe?

This book was fairly fast paced since most of the book takes place within one week’s time. I especially liked the multiple points of view so that it felt like I was invested in the life of both main characters.

This following quote leads to a very steamy scene, but it was this lead in that I remember most: “A devil took that opportunity to rest on her shoulder. She leaned over, putting her lips close to Lucius’s ear. “Shower” ”
