Living in a world where men were treated like a rare commodity, Ethan Spears did what he could in order to survive. But when the proverbial rug was pulled out from under him, desperate measures called for desperate actions. To save his sister, he entered The Lottery, offering himself to one woman for a year.

Karlyn Bowman was a rebel in her family, choosing not to climb the corporate ladder in order to pursue her love of art. Lonely, ostracized by the family who should have loved her, she pushed forward trying to become a success. When her friend gives her a lottery ticket to cheer her up, she puts it aside and forgets it. Imagine her surprise when the knock came to her door and her life—and his—were changed forever.

Be Warned: anal sex, masturbation, orgies, bondage

Rachel's Review

Ethan captured my heart and held me enthralled. A repressed alpha living in a futuristic woman’s world, I couldn’t help but feel for the hot stud. A desperate man, he’d do anything to save his sister even if it meant teaching the artsy Karlyn Bowman the ways of love, an emotion long dead in his heart.

Karlyn only wanted to create pieces of beauty. She didn’t have time for a man, nor did she think she needed one. One kiss, one touch, and she was drawn into the virility of the man thrust into her life.

The sparks fly and the hot sex prevails. I loved the emotion and romance spattered through the lusty scenes. This is a must read!

“Alara…” His heavy breaths made speech difficult. “You can’t…I might…”
She broke into a smile that could topple empires and bring monsters to their knees. “Of course you will.”
Straight-laced dragon General Kai Nasu dreams of reviving his Empire’s glory. Step one: conquer the Arctic mere habitat. But subduing the dolphin-shifting barbarians proves difficult when his human-form body starts breaking all the rules.

Commander of the Island’s Armed Forces, Princess Alara Skjelfjord plans to kick the haughty reptile’s butt back to where he came from. But the dragon emissary is hotter than a lava tube, and much as she wants to get rid of him, she wants to ride him first.

Alara inflames Kai’s body but denies him her heart. It’s only when Kai questions the very beliefs that made him that he can earn her love and become the dragon he was destined to be.

Rachel's Review

Daisy Harris once again drops us into her water world and commits 100 percent to her characters and her story. I’m following this series very closely, because so far, each book only makes me hungry for more. Kai and Alara are both darker, stronger and more unstable than the characters in Mere Temptation, which really made me love them more—I like dark!

The story was fast moving and plot lines from the first book flowed well without losing the reader. The story was also written so that if you accidentally pick up Mere Passion first, you won’t miss anything or feel lost in the plot.

The only true complaint I had with this book, if I had to pick on something was that there are quite a few typos. Not enough to make you stumble, but enough that I noticed. Otherwise, this is a peach of a read and I can’t wait for her next installment. I would definitely recommend this fantastic, wet world to anyone.

It's not that Kalien doesn't like his sometimes domineering boyfriend, Damian, because he does. It's just that he likes his friend and fellow mercenary Alana that way, too. If he wasn't afraid that one or both of them will be out for his blood if he ever mentions it, three of them could have some fun. Then he accidentally (accidentally, he swears) gets them booted off the planet and everyone knows how boring space travel can get.

Assuming, that is, that your middleman won't try to set you up and you won't need to jump around the stars trying to get away from the bad guys. The job they were hired to do suddenly gets very complicated. They need to get to planet Cetriola, get there fast and preferably in one piece. That should be the end of their troubles...hopefully.

Rachel's Review

This was a great novella. Day created strong characters that had to learn to share one another. With three alphas that’s not always easy. And yes, the female was an alpha too. The m/m relationship was hot and dedicated. I liked seeing the jealousy without the mushy sentiment. There were no apologies for the harsh resentment and you didn’t really need any. The characters made everything work.

Fast paced, with plenty of action, heat, and love, I gladly spread the word about this great find. I can’t wait to see what world, life form, and relationships Day creates next!

Review: Semper Fi by Barrie Abalard

Semper Fi by Barrie Abalard

In this uncertain world full of lies and deceit, who doesn’t long for a mate that embodies solid values? Who doesn’t want a friend you can trust?

Jake Stone is searching for a woman whose values match his, a woman who will be Semper Fi—always faithful. When he walks into a bar one night to propose to his fiancée, he has no idea that he’ll be going home with two women he’s never met before.

Connie Woods has a thing for Marines, so both Jake’s looks and personal code draw her. She and her best friend, Amanda Foster, decide to spend a wild night in a hot ménage with Jake, determined to cheer him up after he is stood up and two-timed by the woman he planned to marry.

But a non-ménage sexual encounter with Amanda, and an upsetting first date with Jake, makes Connie think she’s lost both of them. Meanwhile, Amanda is hurt that her best friend won’t talk to her about what happened between them. And, Jake thinks he’s screwed up his chances with Connie. Can each of them find the love and happiness they are seeking?

Semper Fi, all about finding faithfulness and friendship in our uncertain world, reassures us that values still matter.

Warnings: This title contains graphic language, menage/group (M/F/F) sex, oral sex (F/F and M/F), masturbation, threat of a spanking (one swat).

Rachel’s Review

Abalard creates a world of militant men and the women who love them. Jake, the hero, can’t get over his obsession for a woman who evokes the term “Semper Fi” and the story revolves around his need for a companion of faithfulness and everything else the words exemplify. Hot love scenes, and a quick, if not flat, plot line lead you along on a tale of pop-goes-the-weasel.

This story would have been a better read if the author hadn’t Semper Fi’d it to death. I worry over the state of our Marines if they all walk around beating on their chest chanting Semper Fi, even when they’re not in a militant environment. In my opinion, the hero lost my interest about the 10th time he stated that he wanted a woman who was “Semper Fi”, and then when the women in his life started repeating the phrase, I almost put the book down. If you can over look this annoying repetition, then you’ll enjoy the heat in this story.

Temptation is her profession, seduction in her blood, but when a courtesan falls in love with an impoverished scholar, can she risk her heart and his life?

For a courtesan with siren’s blood, drawing men to her bed is as natural as breathing, but Lisara Hammett refuses to feel anything beyond the physical. A generations-old curse dooms the women of her bloodline to lose any man they love.

Reyst Andulon does not believe in superstition nor magical creatures—but he does believe he is not good enough for Lady Lisara. Lisara begs to differ, but must risk the pain of her family curse or lose Reyst forever.

Rachel's Review

When a courtesan craves the peace of the ocean and the song of the waves to ease her siren’s blood, she must prepare to end her life of affairs. But, when a man of noble birth takes the position of a scholar and sets his virtuous charms on Lisara, she’s stuck with fighting her personal wants with what her body needs.

Golinowski creates a whimsical world of magic and sweetness in a time and place rifled with debauchery. This is a beautiful story of old world charm, painted with vivid colors to bring the enchantment alive. I sincerely enjoyed her characters and their lives. I wish that the hero and heroine would have been thrown together more, their chemistry was brilliant. Can’t wait to see what is in store on her next book.

Cap de Berg in the South of France is a nudist resort. But it is not just any nudist resort. It is the biggest, sexiest, kinkiest nudist resort in the world. It’s a paradise for persons of a deviant disposition. But there is trouble in paradise.

Paul becomes ever more insanely jealous of his Mistress Caroline’s lesbian relationship with fellow dominatrix Sarah. He is convinced that Sarah is intent on stealing Caroline away from him. It leads the normally dutiful slave to start screwing up badly and ultimately to commit the cardinal sin of disobeying a direct instruction from his Mistress.

As punishment for his wrongdoing the furious Caroline disciplines Paul with increasing savagery. She is aided in this by her fearsomely sadistic friend Yvette, a woman who more than lives up to her reputation for being the cruellest dominatrix in Cap de Berg.

Meanwhile spirited slave Rhoda switches from sub to domme and in the process becomes seriously smitten with a delectable novice sex slave called Laurent. But Rhoda has to leave the country soon, so can there be any real future for her and Laurent? And will Caroline ever let up on poor benighted Paul – and if she does, will it only be to ditch him altogether in favor of the highly seductive Sarah?
Warnings: This title contains graphic language, m/m sex, strap-on anal sex, domination, bondage and sadomasochism.

Rachel’s Review

This BDSM novella was filled with sadist/masochist role-play and several relationships. The main hero and heroine, Paul and Caroline, learn about their love for each other through the torment and tormenting of others. Friends unite to find the exact matches for each other, but during the course of the erotic vacation, subs become doms and the doms will have to relinquish their hard fought control to find their true soul mates.
Well written and fast paced, this story moved from one erotic scene to the next. If you’re looking for a hot-hot read, this is the place. But, this is not for the faint of heart. The role-play is hardcore and laced with pain. Loved that the author wasn’t afraid to push the limits and push her characters out of their comfort zones. A definite bedtime must read!

Callie will do anything to save her grandfather’s farm. She’s even ready to offer her body to one of the wealthy Black brothers in exchange for peace of mind. What she doesn’t expect is how much she loves being dominated by the kinky trio. But can she trust the known playboys with her heart?

Colton and his brothers can’t get enough of the feisty blonde cowgirl with the wicked tongue and killer curves. They love playing their naughty games with Callie but never want the fun to end. Before they can convince her that she belongs to them, they’ll have to prove their intentions are honorable.

Rachel's Review

Threatened with losing her grandfather’s farm, Callie finds herself faced with three gorgeous brothers that can’t keep their hands off her. Each has his own agenda, but they all want the same thing, Callie—forever.
This was a hot, hot read with many twists and turns in a truly dynamic, emotional, turbulent relationship.

Beautifully written, I found myself feeling the heroine’s turmoil at having to choose between the brothers. I couldn’t decide which one I liked best, they all drew me in. The plot was well developed and the story never slowed. I wish that more erotica romances could read like this one.

Espino is a true master at the human emotion that comes into play when delving into the world of ménage. And I was glad for once that the woman didn’t have to choose just one flavor. Loved this story and I can’t wait to see more.

Top supermodel, Angel Dias, lives the life of the rich and fabulous, until a heinous car accident mars her face. After thirteen surgeries and losing everything she deemed important, she seeks out the dark forces to salvage her life and decides to conjure the Devil for help, making a deal to recover her beauty. In exchange for his help, Lucifer forces her to hunt supernatural renegades, which have eluded the pits of Hell. In her quest to find beauty and get out of her contract with Lucifer, Angel stumbles upon love in the arms of a demon.

Commander of the Legions and an Underworld Demon, Jacque Toussant, takes a field commission to escape the madness of a failed relationship and prove himself worthy of his demon heritage. Jacque is content with his existence as a field soldier until Lucifer gives him a special assignment to oversee a new trainee, a supermodel nonetheless. Humans hold low appeal for Jacque, especially the females. That is until he meets Angel. Jacque risks everything, including his life, to find a way to break Angel’s deal with Lucifer.

Rachel's Review

When super model, Angel Dias, loses her beauty, she’s left with only one choice, contacting the devil. Selling her soul to Lucifer seems better than living with the scarring that mars the only thing she values, her beauty. But, she doesn’t plan on Satan’s crafty ways and soon finds herself submerged in his role to bring back escaped souls.

The leader of the Legions is left with training the human woman, a task he’s not excited about. Through the trials of training and the battle that will ensue, a common respect is found that turns into love.

Dumas created a fast paced and exciting Urban Fantasy that is filled with heat and heart. A woman learns to love herself and to overcome her superficial concerns. A man learns to trust and overcome his fear of commitment. The two learn that together than can overcome anything, even the despair of Hell.

I really enjoyed this read and look forward to the continuation of this saga. The secondary characters promise to be as interesting as Angel and Jacque, and I can’t wait to read on. I’m definitely recommending this read to everyone!!!
